| Objectives:Cervical cancer(CC)is one of the three major malignant tumors in gynecology, but there is currently no published research on the neurotrophic factor Artemin(ARTN)in cervical cancer. To investigate the relationship between the expression of ARTN gene and CC and its precancerous lesions,to provide a basis for evaluating it as a new biological indicator for the diagnosis, treatment evaluation and prognosis of cervical cancer. Methods:A total of 140 patients with serum of CC and cervical precancerous lesions and 72 patients with cervical secretions of cervical precancerous lesions were collected with their clinical pathological data from November 2018 to January 2020 in the gynecology department of Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, and 97 patients from healthy population were examined. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect the concentration of ARTN in the serum and cervical secretions. The relationship between the levels of ARTN and clinicopathological characteristics was evaluated. To evaluate the value of serum ARTN in diagnostic experiments of CC.Using chemical luminescence method, serum squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCC)were detected and the significance of serum ARTN and SCC combined detection was analyzed. Results: The serum ARTN levels in patients with CC and cancer precancerous lesions are higher than those in the healthy group(p<0.05).The serum ARTN levels in CC patients after treatment are lower than those in untreated CC patients(p<0.038);The serum ARTN levels of the CC patients are unrelated to the patient’s age,FIGO stage of cervical cancer, pathological types, histological grade and size of cancerous lesions, the condition of lymph node metastasis, vascular invasion, nerve invasion(all p>0.05).The sensitivity of serum ARTN in the diagnosis of cervical precancerous lesions was 69.7%,the specificity was 66.0%,AUC =0.707,p <0.05,the cut-off value was 231.74 pg / ml;when the combined detection of serum ARTN and SCC was used to diagnose cervical squamous cell carcinoma, the detection sensitivity was 62.7%,the specificity is 89.7%,and the accuracy is 78.7%;There is no statistically significant difference in the levels of ARTN in cervical secretions in patients with chronic cervicitis and cervical lesions(p>0.05).Conclusions: Serum ARTN has the clinical value of diagnosing cervical precancerous lesions and cervical cancer. When combined with SCC for diagnosis of cervical squamous cell carcinoma, the diagnostic efficacy is complementary. The value of cervical secretion ARTN as a biomarker for cervical cancer still needs further investigation. |
