Research Purpose:To describe the Posttraumatic Growth Levels of Caregivers of Patients with Permanent Intestinal Stomas,and identify the influence factors for Posttraumatic Growth Levels,and explore the relationship between Posttraumatic Growth and rumination,social support and coping styles in this group.Research Methods:In this study,a cross-sectional questionnaire was used.Convenient sampling was adopted from the anorectal department and ostomy clinic of a tertiary hospital in Zhejiang Province from June 2020 to January 2021.200 Parents and their caregivers were recruited.The Post traumatic Growth was measured by General information questionnaire,Patient stoma information,Post traumatic growth Inventory,Event Related Rumination Inventory,Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire,Perceived Social Support Scale.The questionnaire results were recorded with Epi Data3.0 and statistically analyzed with SPSS 23.0.Independent sample t-test,one-way analysis of variance,non parametric test,correlation analysis,and multiple linear regression analysis were used to explore the influencing factors of Post traumatic Growth in Caregivers of Patients with Permanent Intestinal Stomas.Research Results:(1)Questionnaire Collection: A total of 213 questionnaires were sent out and 200 were effectively received with an effective recovery rate of 93.9%.(2)The average score of Post traumatic growth Inventory was(52.12±14.26),and it is below the middle level.The scores of five dimensions from high to low are spiritual change(2.93±1.07),personal strength(2.72±0.92),appreciation of life(2.69±0.97),new possibilities(2.28±0.87),relating to others(2.27±0.72).(3)Uni variate analysis results showed that the Post traumatic growth score of Caregivers of Patients with Permanent Intestinal Stomas had statistical differences(P<0.05)in caregivers’ age,gender,education level,occupation,duration of continuous care,average monthly income of the family,co-caregivers,and time spent with patients.(4)The results of correlation analysis showed that the Post traumatic growth score of Caregivers of Patients with Permanent Intestinal Stomas was negatively correlated with intrusive meditation,and positively correlated with positive coping,total score of perceived social support and various dimensions.(5)The results of multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that the main factors influencing the Post traumatic growth score of Caregivers of Patients with Permanent Intestinal Stomas were: perceived social support,time spent with patients,positive coping style,occupation,gender,and intrusive meditation,which explained 35.5% of variance of PTG.Research Conclusion:(1)The Post traumatic growth score of Caregivers of Patients with Permanent Intestinal Stomas is below the medium level,and personalized nursing plan needs to be developed according to specific circumstances.(2)The results of multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that the main factors influencing the Post traumatic growth score of Caregivers of Patients with Permanent Intestinal Stomas were: perceived social support,time spent with patients,positive coping style,occupation,gender,and intrusive meditation.
