| Drug addiction and relapse are a major social problem, and despite serious negative consequences, including disruption of social relationships, unemployment, physical and mental illness, the lives of addicts often revolve around the drug of choice and the activities associated with it.Social cognition has great clinical significance for addicts, and studies have shown that they influence the initiation of substance use and the development of substance use disorders,as well as the success of treatment.Social cognitive impairments increase the risk of social isolation, aggression, and depression, which can contribute to a vicious cycle of drug use.In addition, impaired social cognition may lead to the decline of the addict’s social relationships and negatively affect the success of withdrawal.Studies on social cognitive function of various drug abusers have shown that their ability to discriminate basic facial expressions, complex facial expressions, and theory of mind level are significantly impaired compared with healthy people.Other aspects of social cognition are also critical to social ability.Lifeness recognition is an important part of the recognition of social cues. This ability is also highly correlated with the level of theory of mind.Social motivation is a powerful force to guide human behavior, and the destruction of social motivation mechanism may also constitute social cognition impairment. Therefore, this study used two face animacy recognition experiments to explore the animacy recognition of heroin abusers and the influence of social motivation on it.In the first experiment,35 heroin abstainers and 38 normal control subjects were selected to measure the vital recognition threshold of the subjects through a face vital binary task. After the measurement, the subjects’ long-term belonging motivation was measured through a questionnaire. The results showed that in the heroin withdrawal group, social connection motivation(NTB score)was negatively correlated with threshold parameters. In the control group, social connection motivation was negatively correlated with threshold parameters. The threshold value of animacy recognition in the heroin withdrawal group.Which was significantly higher than that in the control group. In the second experiment,60 heroin abstainers and 58 normal subjects were selected to test the causal relationship between social connection motivation and life-status identification bias.In the second experiment,60 heroin abstainers and 58 normal subjects were selected to test the causal relationship between social connection motivation and life-status identification bias.A 2(group: withdrawal group, control group)×2(feedback: acceptance,rejection)inter-subject design was adopted. The subjects completed a personality test and received false feedback based on the experimental purpose, and then measured the vital recognition threshold value of the subjects. The results are as follows: there is no group master effect. The main effect of the feedback condition is significant. The threshold of future loneliness feedback condition was significantly lower than that of future belonging condition.Specific results obtained from simple effect analysis showed that the threshold value of the withdrawal group under the exclusion condition and the threshold value of the acceptance condition had no significant difference, while the threshold value of the control group under the exclusion condition was significantly lower than that under the acceptance condition. In the third experiment,30 heroin abstainers and 29 heroin abstainers were selected to measure the vital recognition threshold of the subjects through a face vital dichotomous task,to see whether there were differences in the vital recognition of the individuals in different withdrawal stages. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the recognition threshold of birth degree between the long-term abstinence group and the short-term abstinence group. In conclusion, there are differences in animacy recognition between heroin abusers and normal control group, which suggests that the ability to perceive animacy is impaired in heroin abusers. The differences in perceptions of animacy suggested that people in the withdrawal group had a stricter standard than the control group when it came to attributing their animacy to underlying social ties.Subjects in the normal group were more likely to perceive these ambiguous biological stimuli as potential social signals, and were more sensitive to them, helping them develop potential social relationships. In the normal control group, individuals will adjust the threshold value of life recognition according to the different effects of the current attribution motivation, and the threshold value under the condition of social exclusion is lower than that under the condition of social acceptance. However, this phenomenon did not appear in the heroin withdrawal group, and there was no significant difference in the threshold value between the two conditions.Motivation is an evolutionary adaptation, which means that addictive groups with poor interpersonal relationships do not have this adaptive strategy. This may be related to the weak sense of social support experienced by the addicted group during the withdrawal process,as well as their chronic social exclusion, discrimination and stigma.Their basic needs cannot be met due to their long-term difficulties and social exclusion, which,to some extent, hinders their motivation to integrate into society. This study provides evidence that the abnormal vital-recognition ability of heroin abusers may be related to the individual’s social connection motivation, which provides new ideas for the development of clinical relapse interventions for heroin abusers in the future. |
