Development And Preliminary Evaluation Of PRO Scale For Patients With Bladder Cancer With Abdominal Stoma

Objective:According to the development guidelines of the PRO scale,the development of the PRO scale for bladder cancer patients with abdominal stoma was systematically completed;After clinical investigation,the measurement characteristics of the scale were preliminarily completed to form a PRO scale for bladder cancer patients with abdominal stoma,which has good reliability and validity and is easy for bladder cancer with abdominal stoma patients to accept.Methods:1.Using literature study,case review and semi-structured interview to form the scale entry pool,after two rounds of the Delphi inquiry,the initial scale of PRO scale for bladder cancer patients with abdominal stoma was formed.2.Utilizing coefficient of variation,high and low grouping comparison,correlation coefficient,internal item consistency and exploratory factor analysis to analyse the items of the scale.According to the comprehensive results,the items were further screened.Thus forming PRO scale for bladder cancer patients with abdominal stoma.3.By split-half reliability coefficient and Cronbach’s α reliability coefficient to evaluate the reliability of the scale.By calculating Spearson correlation coefficient between each item and each field score to evaluate the content validity of the scale from the acceptance rate,completion rate and completion time to evaluate the feasibility of the scale.Results:1.In this study,the pool of the PRO scale for bladder cancer patients with abdominal stoma contains 90 items.In physiological domain,there are 16 items in specific symptom dimension,9 items in non-specific symptom dimension,8 items in daily life dimension,8 items in anxiety dimension,9 items in depression dimension,5items in inferiority dimension,7 items in colostomy adaptation dimension,4 items in social activity dimension,7 items in social support dimension.There are 10 items in the compliance dimension and 7 items in the satisfaction dimension in the treatment field.2.After two rounds of expert inquiry and project analysis,the scale has 9dimensions and 52 items.The physiological domain includes 2 dimensions,including10 items in the specific symptom dimension and 4 items in the non-specific symptom dimension;The psychological domain includes 3 dimensions,including 4 items in the anxiety dimension,7 items in the depression dimension and 5 items in the inferiority dimension;The social domain includes 2 dimensions,including 3 items in the colostomy dimension and 6 items in the social support dimension.The treatment field includes 2 dimensions,including 9 items in compliance dimension and 4 items in satisfaction dimension.3.The overall split-half reliability coefficient of the scale is 0.751,and the splithalf reliability coefficients of the four fields are 0.815 in physiological field,0.774 in psychological field,0.687 in social field and 0.933 in therapeutic field.Cronbach’s αof the scale was 0.937;Cronbach’s α in the four fields were 0.840 in physiology,0.837 in psychology,0.733 in society and 0.942 in therapy.Cronbach’s α in all three fields except social field is above 0.80,and the internal consistency reliability is very good.The correlation coefficients between the total scores of items in four fields and the total scores of the scale are all greater than 0.40.The correlation coefficients between all items in the scale and their fields are statistically significant(P<0.05),and the content validity of the scale is good.The acceptance rate of the scale was 98.48%.The completion rate of the scale is 100%;The completion time of the scale was 13.54±2.09 minutes.The recovery rate and response rate are both more than 80%,and the time to complete the scale is within 20 minutes,so the scale is feasible.Conclusions:In this study,a PRO scale for patients with bladder cancer with abdominal stoma was developed by using a variety of methods.The preliminary measurement results show that the scale has good reliability,validity and feasibility,and can be used to evaluate the health status of bladder cancer patients with abdominal stoma.As the survey sample is only from Jiangxi Province,it is necessary to further collect data throughout the country and further modify and improve the scale so that it can be widely used throughout the country.
