Objective: The incidence rate of retinal vein occlusion is high, and RVO is very harmful.RVO is the second most common retinopathy after diabetic retinopathy. The main fundus manifestations were varicose dilation, retinal hemorrhage, cystoid macular edema and exudation.RVO is an acute disease with a long course and a serious decline in vision. It is often blind due to the complications of cystoid macular edema and neovascular glaucoma. At present, various methods have been used to treat me,such as grid laser photocoagulation, intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor(anti VEGF),intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide, etc.Although all of the above treatment methods can achieve complete regression of ME,but there are still some patients with poor visual effect, the best corrected visual acuity are different, which indicates that there may be the other factors can independently affect the final visual effect of RVO secondary ME anti VEGF.This study mainly focused on the correlation between best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and retinal ultrastructure under OCT in patients with retinal vein occlusion(RVO)complicated with macular cystoid edema before and 1 week and 1month after anti-VEGF treatment.According to the analysis of the data at present, because the ellipsoid zone is the junction of the internal segments and external segments and is an important tissue structure, the continuity of the ellipsoid zone is closely related to the visual acuity. Therefore, this study selected the correlation analysis between the continuity of the ellipsoid zone and the best corrected visual acuity(BCVA).It is hoped that through a large number of clinical cases and clinical results, the evaluation indicators of the effect of anti-VEGF treatment for RVO with macular cystoid edema will be found out, providing more theoretical basis for further in-depth understanding of the disease,in order to evaluate the visual function of the affected eye of patients with retinal vein occlusion and macular edema caused by non-diabeticMethods: From March 2019 to November 2019,60 patients(60 eyes)with retinal vein occlusion complicated with macular edema were diagnosed by chief physician after mydriatic fundus examination,OCT and FFA in the ophthalmology ward of our hospital, including 34 males(12 CRVOs,22 BRVOs)and 28 females(13CRVOs,15 BRVOs),aged 47-82 years, mean age 64.48±9.13 years, disease course of 3d-5mo,mean 13 d.All patients who met the criteria were examined for BCVA,the continuity of ellipsoid zone, and the thickness of central fovea of macular before treatment and 1 wk and 1 mo after anti-VEGF treatment, and the patients were divided into three groups according to the degree of ellipsoid zone integrity before treatment, with intact ellipsoid zone as group A(n = 23)and visible incomplete breaks in the ellipsoid zone as group B(n = 26)and unclear ellipsoid zone as group C(n =11),and the mean values of best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and CMT measured by OCT were compared between group A,group B,and group C,respectively. The collected effective data were analyzed by SPSS 22.0 statistical software. The results were expressed as mean ± standard deviation. The BCVA of all patients was converted into the common logarithm Log MAR visual acuity of the minimum angle of resolution. The independent sample t-test was used for the comparison at the same time period.Spearman correlation analysis was used for the correlation between the factors.P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant,P < 0.01 was considered statistically significant, and P > 0.05 was considered statistically insignificant.Results:(1)There was a negative correlation between BCVA and the fracture length of the ellipsoid band, and the longer the fracture length of the ellipsoid band, the worse the visual acuity;(2)There was a negative correlation between BCVA and CMT,and the thicker the fovea, the worse the visual acuity.(3)BCVA has a high degree of correlation with ellipsoid band integrity;it has a low degree of correlation with CMTConclusion: The best corrected visual acuity after RVO anti-VEGF treatment is closely related to ellipsoid band integrity and foveal thickness, and ellipsoid band integrity can be an indicator for predicting and evaluating the postoperative treatment outcome of patients.
