Objective:To analyze and evaluate the total symptom, clinical effect, course of treatment, adverse reactions and recurrence of terbinafine, microwave combined with terbinafine in the treatment of fungal external otitis,so as to improve the understanding of fungal external otitis, and to seek a safer and more effective way for the treatment of fungal external otitis. Methods:A total of 116 patients with fungal external otitis diagnosed by clinical, ear endoscopy and mycology examinations and meeting the inclusion criteria from April 2019 to June 2020 in the Otolaryngology Department of our hospital were divided into two groups by random number table.Among which 32 were female and 84 were male. The patients were greater than or equal to 15 years old.The control group:the fungal lesions in the external auditory canal were cleaned under ear endoscopy, and terbinafine ear bath was given.Combined group:fungus lesions in the external auditory canal were cleaned under ear endoscopy, then terbinafine ear bath with microwave treatment were given to them. The two groups were followed up for six months. The scores of symptoms and signs, therapeutic efficacy, adverse reactions and recurrence of the patients were observed to understand whether the patients were satisfied with the treatment, and the final results were statistically analyzed. Results:The difference between the two groups at baseline was not statistically significant(P>0.05),so they were comparable before treatment. There were interaction effects,inter-group effects and time effects of total scores comparison with significant statistical differences(P<0.05).The total scores of both groups decreased over time with the statistically significant difference(P<0.05).There were interaction effects between different treatment methods and times. As time went on,the total scores of the two groups decreased in different ranges, and T2in the observation group decreased the largest range with statistical significance(P<0.05).Comparison of total scores between the two groups at the same time point showed that the control group was higher than the observation group, and the difference in T0and T1was not statistically significant(p>0.05),while the difference in T2and T3was statistically significant(P<0.05).The efficacy of the two groups was lower than that of the observation group at T1,and the difference was not significant(P>0.05).The efficacy of T2and T3groups was lower in the control group than in the observation group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The treatment course of the control group was higher than that of the observation group compared with the treatment course with statistical significance(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in two groups was low,and the control group was higher than the observation group with no significant statistical difference(P>0.05).This good safety helped to increase the rate of treatment compliance.During the 6-month follow-up,both the control group and the observation group had a certain recurrence rate, and the recurrence rate in the control group was higher than that in the observation group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Microwave combined with terbinafine in the treatment of fungal external otitis can alleviate the symptoms of patients. The efficacy of microwave combined with terbinafine in the treatment of fungal external otitis is better than that of terbinafine alone.Microwave combined with terbinafine in the treatment of fungal external otitis can shorten the course of treatment and reduce the recurrence rate.Microwave combined with terbinafine in the treatment of fungal external otitis has high safety and good tolerance.
