Objective: To investigate the levels of some cytokines in the aqueous humor of eyes with macular edema secondary to central retinal vein occlusion,and the correlation between them with relative hemorrhage area(RHA)of posterior retina,the central retinal thickness(CRT)and the number of intraretinal high reflective dots(HRDs).Method: In this study,15 eyes of 15 patients with macular edema secondary to central retinal vein occlusion in our hospital from January to December 2020 underwent anterior chamber puncture and aqueous humor extracting to detect the levels of the concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),interleukin 6(IL-6),interleukin 8(IL-8),vascular cell adhesion molecule(VCAM)and basic fibroblast growth factor(b FGF).And the correlation between them with best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),RHA,CRT and number degree of HRDs were analyzed.Conclusion: There are increased levels of VEGF,IL-6,IL-8 and b FGF in the eyes with macular edema secondary to central retinal vein occlusion.The occurrence and development of macular edema is the result of multiple cytokine interaction.The larger relative hemorrhage area of posterior retina and the more intraretinal high reflective dots indicate heavier inflammatory response,and perhaps greater needs of anti-inflammatory treatment.Results: In the aqueous humor test of 15 eyes of 15 patients with macular edema secondary to central retinal vein occlusion,the average concentration of VEGF,IL-6,IL-8,VCAM and b FGF were 56.21 ± 46.66pg/ml,96.95 ±144.49pg/ml,44.71 ± 58.34pg/ml,529.67 ± 572.40pg/ml and 7.90 ±3.41pg/ml respectively.Apart from VCAM,the other four cytokines were all higher than the normal levels.There are significant positive linear correlation between the concentration of VEGF and IL-8,b FGF and IL-8(P<0.05).There is a significant positive linear correlation between the concentration of IL-6and RHA(P<0.05).The average values of VEGF,IL-6 and IL-8concentrations in eyes with large numbers of HRDs were 55.20pg/ml,293.60pg/ml and 38.00pg/ml respectively;in eyes with moderate numbers of HRDs were 73.52pg/ml,50.87pg/ml and 63.85pg/ml respectively;in eyes with little numbers HRDs were 38.96pg/ml,44.72pg/ml and 28.93pg/ml respectively. |
