ObjectiveIn this study,we treat radiation-induced oral mucositis of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma caused by radiotherapy with short-wave ultraviolet radiation combined with Kangfuxin liquid. The effects of short-wave ultraviolet radiation combined with Kangfuxin liquid on the severity, pain and oral pathogenic bacteria infection of radiation oral mucositis were analyzed in order to provide reference and basis for clinical treatment.MethodsFrom January 2019 to June 2020,226 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma who were treated with radiotherapy in a third-class hospital in a certain place were selected and were randomly divided into control group and intervention group using the digital random table method. At the beginning of radiotherapy, patients in both groups were given Kangfuxin liquid until the end of radiotherapy. When radiation-induced oral mucositis occurred, patients in the control group continued to receive Kangfuxin liquid. When patients in the intervention group began to develop radiation oral mucositis, they were treated with short-wave ultraviolet radiation and continued until the fifth week of radiotherapy. The pharyngeal swabs were cultured in the two groups before the beginning of radiotherapy and at the fifth week of radiotherapy to observe the infection rate of oral pathogenic bacteria. The severity of radiation oral mucositis was evaluated by acute radiation injury mucosal reaction grading standard, and the pain was evaluated by digital pain assessment scale. At the third week and the fifth weekend of radiotherapa,we compared the severity, pain degree of radiation oral mucositis. At the fifth weekend of radiotherapa,we compared the result of throat swab between the two group.SPSS25.0 is used to process and analyze the related data.Results1 Baseline information1.1General data. Before the beginning of radiotherapy, the general data of the patients were compared, such as sex, age, marriage,KPS score, tumor stage,BMI,WBC,HB,and Pharynx swab culture. The data were balanced, the difference was not statistically significant(P >0.05),which was comparable.1.2 Occurrence time of radiation oral mucositis. In the process of radiotherapy, the patient developed radiation oral mucositis successively. The duration of radioactive oral mucositis in the observation group was 14.9±2.7 days, while that in the control group was 13.8±3.8 days. There was no significant difference in the occurrence time of radiation-induced oral mucositis between the two groups(P=0.864).1.3 Lesion sites of radiation oral mucositis. The main lesions of radiation oral mucositis in the two groups were in the body of tongue, cheek and palate. We compared these lesion sites and fond there was no significant difference between the two groups(χ2=1.818,P=0.178).2 Severity of radiation oral mucositis. At third week of radiotherapy, grade 2 and grade 3 of radiation oral mucositis occurred in both two groups. But in the incidence of grade 1 radiation oral mucositis, the intervention group was higher than the control group. In the incidence of grade 2 and grade 3,the control group was higher than the intervention group. The severity of radiation oral mucositis in the intervention group was significantly lower than that in the control group(Z=-2.041,P=0.041).In the incidence of grade 1 radiation oral mucositis, the intervention group was higher than the control group at the fifth week of radiotherapy, while in the incidence of grade 2,grade 3 and grade 4 radiation oral mucositis, the intervention group was lower than the control group. The severity of radiation oral mucositis in the intervention group was slighter than that in the control group(Z=-2.273,P=0.006).3 Pain degree of radiation oral mucositis. The patient’s pain increased after radiation oral mucositis. In the incidence of mild pain, the intervention group was higher than the control group. In the incidence of moderate and severe pain, the control group was higher than the intervention group. This indicated that the pain degree of the intervention group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).4 Pharynx swab culture. In the positive rate of pharyngeal swab culture, the intervention group was lower than the control group at the fifth week of radiotherapy. This indicated that the infection rate of oral pathogenic bacteria in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group(χ2=4.404,P=0.036).ConclusionShort-wave ultraviolet combined with Kangfuxin liquid is effective in the treatment of radiation oral mucositis, which can reduce the severity of inflammation, and reduce level 3 and level 4 radiation oral mucositis; The combination can relieve pain and reduce the incidence of moderate pain and severe pain; The combination and inhibit the growth of oral pathogenic bacteria, reduce the infection of pathogenic bacteria in patients. This method is worthy of clinical application.
