| Objective: To explore the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined in the treatment of moderate and severe persistent allergic rhinitis(AR),and the effect on the serum levels of platelet activating factor(PAF),transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β),interferon-γ(IFN-γ),Interleukins(ILs)and helper T cell 1 / helper T cell 2(Th1/Th2),so to explore the mechanism of treating AR.Methods: Total of 60 patients with moderate or severe persistent AR from August 2017 to June 2019 in TCM clinic of Zibo maternal and Child Health Hospital were chosen to divided into two groups according to the method of random number table. Both groups were given health education. The 30 patients in thebasic group were treated with desloratadine, while the 30 patients in the acupuncture group were treated with desloratadine combined with acupuncture and moxibustion. The course of treatment in both groups was 4 weeks. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. The TCM syndrome score, visual analogue scale(VAS)score and quality of life questionnaire(RQLQ)score of the patients with rhinoconjunctivitis were compared before and after treatment. The changes of serum levels of PAF,TGF-β,IFN-γ,IL-1,IL-4,IL-13,IL-35,Ig A,Ig M and Ig E,and the ratios of basophilic, neutrophil, and eosinophilic cells before and after treatment were measured. Results: The effective rate was 93.33% in the acupincture group and 70.00% in the basic group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores and total scores of TCM syndromes in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores and total scores of TCM syndromes in the acupuncture group were lower than that in basic group(P<0.05).The VAS score and RQLQ score of the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the VAS score and RQLQ score of the acupuncture group were lower that in basic group(P<0.05).The serum levels of PAF and basophilic cell in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),while in the acupuncture group were lower than those in basic group(P<0.05).The serum levels of TGF-β in the two groups were higher than those before treatment(P<0.05),while in the acupuncture group was higher than that in basic group(P<0.05).The serum levels of IFN-γ and IL-1 in the two groups were higher and the serum levels of IL-4,IL-13,IL-35 and Ig E were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),while the serum levels of IFN-γ and IL-1 in the acupuncture group were higher(P<0.05)and the levels of IL-4,IL-13,IL-35 and Ig E were lower than those in basic group(P<0.05).Conclusion: Applying acupuncture combined with loratadine to treat the moderate and severe persistent AR has a significant effect. It could significantly improve the nasal symptoms and improve the quality of life of patients. The therapeutic mechanism is related to the regulation of serum levels of PAF,TGF-β,IFN-γ,ILs,Ig E and the balance of Th1/Th2 and the ratios of basophilic cells. |
