Objective: To understand the status situation of chronic wound care knowledge of nurses in primary hospitals and the training needs of nurses in primary hospitals, and to analyze the factors influencing the status situation of chronic wound care knowledge of nurses in primary hospitals. Methods: Convenient sampling method was used to select the nursing staff from three first-class hospitals and three second-class hospitals in Hubei Province as the research objects. The questionnaire survey was conducted from January 2020 to may 2020,and the questionnaire was distributed in the form of electronic questionnaire. The questionnaire includes self-designed questionnaire on general situation, questionnaire on chronic wound care knowledge of community nurses, training situation and demand of chronic wound related knowledge.SPSS21.0 was used for data analysis.Frequency, constituent ratio and median(interquartile interval)were used for statistical description in general data.(?)± s was used for measurement data.Case number and percentage were used for statistical description in training and demand of chronic wound care knowledge. The measurement data of two groups were compared in mastery of chronic wound care knowledge of nurses in primary hospitals.Independent sample t-test was used for those with normal distribution,one-way ANOVA was used for more than two groups, and Kruskal Wallis H-Test was used for those without normal distribution. The test level is set to 0.05,and the value of two-sided probability P < 0.05 was statistically significant.Results:1.Among the 313 people surveyed,152 people were poor, accounting for 48.56%;109 people were good, accounting for 34.82%;only 52 people were excellent, accounting for 16.61%.From high to low,the scores of nurses’ mastery of chronic wound nursing knowledge in each dimension were as follows: chronic wound treatment method(34.09 ± 8.96),performance of common dressings(16.80 ± 6.51),evaluation of chronic wound(15.67 ± 4.52),and influencing factors of chronic wound healing(11.59 ± 3.12).2.The results of univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences in the scores of chronic wound nursing knowledge among professional title, education background, understanding of the definition of chronic wound, frequency of contacting chronic wound, understanding of wet healing theory, treating chronic wound with healing theory, consulting superior hospital and participating in wound training class(P< 0.05).3.The results of multivariate analysis showed that education background, frequency of contact with chronic wounds, understanding of wet healing theory and participating in wound training were the main factors influencing nurses’ mastery of chronic wound nursing knowledge in primary hospitals(P < 0.05).4.Among the respondents,57.51% had the experience of treating or nursing patients with chronic wounds,7.03% had the experience of on-site treatment or nursing guidance,20.45% had the experience of preventing and publicizing chronic wounds, and only 36.74% thought that the access to knowledge of chronic wound care was convenient.5.The top three effective ways to improve the knowledge and skills of chronic wound care were: wound therapists’ on-site guidance and demonstration(91.05%),attending special lectures(89.14%),and watching standard VCD(85.30%).6.The top three sources of chronic wound care knowledge were: communication among colleagues(67.73%),textbooks(62.62%)and their own past experience(47.92%);the top three ways of acquiring these knowledge were: special lectures(60.38%),clinical practice(43.45%),short-term training(39.94%).7.The top three contents of the knowledge of chronic wound care that the nurses in primary hospitals think urgently need to be improved are: Nurses’ knowledge of chronic wound care(89.78%),practical operation ability of chronic wound care(80.19%),and stoma care clinic in primary hospitals(74.12%).8.The training time of chronic wound care knowledge for nurses in primary hospitals was as follows: 1 week(27.48%),1 month(23.00%),2 days(21.73%),2weeks(12.14%),5 days(11.18%),others(4.47%).9.Nurses in primary hospitals hope to learn the knowledge of chronic wound care in the following order: chronic wound treatment(96.17%),theoretical basis and influencing factors of chronic wound healing(89.14%),health education knowledge related to chronic wound(88.50%),and use of chronic wound dressings and instruments(81.79%).10.The top five factors affecting the continuing education and learning of nursing staff in primary hospitals were as follows: lack of human resources and busy work(79.56%);insufficient training courses and materials(66.13%);lack of funds(32.91%);ignorance of how to participate in continuing education(32.27%);weak learning atmosphere(23.00%).Conclusion:1.The knowledge of chronic wound care of primary hospital nurses is not optimistic on the whole, more than half of them are poor in knowledge of chronic wound care, and a considerable number of them are not enough in knowledge of chronic wound care. The score of chronic wound nursing knowledge in each dimension from high to low was: chronic wound treatment method, performance of common dressings, evaluation of chronic wound and influencing factors of chronic wound healing.2.There are four factors that affect the level of nurses’ knowledge of chronic wound care in primary hospitals: education background, frequency of contacting chronic wounds, understanding of wet healing theory and participating in wound care training. It is suggested that the factors of nursing staff should be taken into consideration in the training of nursing staff, and the personalized hierarchical training should be carried out to improve the training efficiency.3.Primary hospital nurses lack of chronic wound nursing practice, and rarely carry out family visits, nursing staff lack of chronic wound nursing knowledge training.4.The main source of nurses’ chronic wound care knowledge acquisition in primary hospital is the communication among colleagues, the main way is the special lecture, and the most desirable way is the wound therapist’s on-site guidance and demonstration. It is suggested that diversified training activities should be carried out as far as possible, information exchange platform should be established, and the learning enthusiasm of nursing staff should be fully mobilized,so as to better learn the corresponding knowledge and improve the professional nursing ability.
