| Purpose: Using CT actual measured kidney depth as a reference standard,to investigate the accuracy of different estimation formulas for measuring renal depth in the measurement of glomerular filtration rate by Gates method in patients with horseshoe kidney. Methods:The clinical data of 55 patients with horseshoe kidney from January 2015 to December 2020 were analyzed retrospectively. The renal function and upper urinary tract drainage were evaluated. The vertical distance from the anterior and posterior surfaces of the kidney to the surface of the posterior dorsal body was measured by CT,and the average was taken as the kidney depth(D,cm).Sex,age, height(H,cm)and weight(W,Kg)were recorded. The estimated kidney depth was obtained by Tonnesen formula,Taylor formula and Li Qian formula.Paired T test, correlation analysis and Bland-Altman analysis were performed between estimated depth and CT measured depth of kidney. Results: there was significant correlation between formula estimation and CT measurement of renal depth, but Li Q formula was better than the other two formulas(left: r = 0.52,p < 0.01,right: R = 0.48,p < 0.01).The renal depth estimated by the formula was lower than that measured by CT..There was significant difference between formula estimation and CT measurement of renal depth(p < 0.01).Conclusion: The existing depth estimation formulas are not completely applicable to horseshoe kidney patients. In order to provide a reliable and accurate kidney depth,a new formula should be developed to estimate the kidney depth of HSK patients. |
