Objective: To observe the distribution characteristics of TCM constitution and syndrome type in postmenopausal women with osteopenia,to analyze the correlation between TCM constitution, syndrome type and common risk factors of osteoporosis and bone mineral density, and to explore the correlation between TCM constitution and syndrome type in this kind of population. Methods: Selected postmenopausal women diagnosed with osteopenia in the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from July2020 to December 2020 as the research subjects, and collected risk factor data [age,BMI,menstrual history(menarche age, menopause age),lifestyle exposure(exercise, tobacco and alcohol addiction),health status(history of fractures, history of underlying diseases)],bone mineral density test results,as well as TCM syndrome data and TCM constitution data.Use SPSS 25.0 to perform statistical analysis on the data.Results:1.Data distribution of risk factors: 156 samples were included in this study, mostly aged 51 to 55 years old, accounting for 33.3%;BMI was mostly in the normal range, accounting for 48.1%;menarche age was mainly 14-16 years old, accounting for 75.0 %;Menopausal age is mainly 48-52 years old, accounting for 58.3%;60.3% of the 156 samples have exercise habits,16.0% have tobacco and alcohol addiction,19.2% have a history of fractures, and 62.8% have a history of underlying diseases.1.Bone mineral density distribution: the maximum bone mineral density is-1.1,the minimum is-2.4,and the median is-1.85.2.Distribution of TCM syndrome tupe: liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome(32.1%)> kidney yang deficiency syndrome(26.3%)> spleen and stomach weakness syndrome(23.7%)> blood stasis qi stagnation syndrome(17.9%).Syndrome type has no correlation with age, menarche age, menopausal age, smoking and alcohol addiction(p>0.05),but has correlation with BMI,exercise, history of fracture, history of underlying diseases, and bone mineral density(p<0.05);the bone mineral density of liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome is the lowest(p<0.05).3.Distribution of TCM constitution: Yin-deficiency constitution(21.8%)> Yangdeficiency constitution(17.3%)> Qi-deficiency constitution(16.0%)> Blood stasis constitution(15.4%)> Phlegm-dampness constitution(12.2%)> Qi stagnation constitution(9.0%)> Dampness-heat constitution(5.1%)> Inherited special constitution(1.9%)> Balanced constitution(1.3%).TCM constitution has no correlation with age, menarche age, menopausal age, exercise, smoking and alcohol addiction, history of underlying diseases(p>0.05),but has correlation with BMI,history of fracture, and bone mineral density(p<0.05);Yin-deficiency,Yang-deficiency,blood stasis, and Qi-deficiency constitution have lower bone density, and Yindeficiency constitution has the lowest bone density.4.Correspondence analysis: There are significant differences among the four TCM syndrome types.Qi stagnation constitution and blood stasis qi stagnation syndrome have the strongest correlation,Qi-deficiency constitution and spleen and stomach weakness syndrome,Yang-deficiency constitution and kidney yang deficiency syndrome,Yin-deficiency constitution and liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome, blood stasis constitution and blood stasis qi stagnation syndrome have a strong correlation.5.Correlation between TCM constitution and TCM syndrome types:Yin-deficiency constitution and Yang-deficiency constitution are related to liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome(p<0.05);Yang-deficiency constitution is related to kidney yang deficiency syndrome(p<0.05);Qi-deficiency constitution is related to spleen and stomach weakness syndrome(p<0.05);Qi stagnation constitution and blood stasis constitution are related to blood stasis qi stagnation syndrome(p<0.05).Conclusions:1.The TCM syndrome types and TCM constitution of postmenopausal women with osteopenia are related to some risk factors for osteoporosis. The most common type of TCM syndrome is liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome, kidney yang deficiency syndrome followed;at the same time, the most common type of TCM constitution are Yin-deficiency constitution and Yang-deficiency constitution. This is a combination of the physiological changes of female postmenopausal exhaustion, insufficient kidney essence, loss of yin and yang, and the influence of risk factors on the body.2.TCM constitution and TCM syndrome types are related to bone mineral density. The study subjects of Yin-deficiency constitution and liver and kidney deficiency syndrome have the lowest bone density and are at higher risk of developing osteoporosis in the future. Therefore, this group of people is the focus of future interventions in traditional Chinese medicine.3.There is a clear correlation between the TCM constitution and TCM syndrome types of postmenopausal women with osteopenia in this survey.People with specific constitution types usually have corresponding syndrome types, which reflects the inherent stipulation of constitution for syndrome types.Constitution is the soil for the formation of syndromes."Constitution Differentiation and Treatment" has great significance in the prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis with traditional Chinese medicine.
