| Purpose: Taking Modified Shugan Erchen Decoction as the test object and through the observation of its clinical effect in treating SAT of phlegm-qi stagnation type,the author of the paper wishes to shed light on the therapy plan and efficacious prescription for treating SAT with TCM.Methods: 60 patients in Sichuan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were gathered and divided into control group and treatment group with 30 patients in each team.Patients in control group were treated with Difene of 75 mg,usually as a single daily dose,while others in treatment group took Chinese medicine orally,one dose was taken three times,and one dose a day.4 weeks later,Comparative analysis of all patients before and after treatment was conducted based on their basic conditions,symptoms and signs after TCM treatment,days for fever reduction,observation indicators of modern medicine(CRP,ESR,TSH,FT3,FT4),and safety indexes.Results:(1)Clinical efficacy(total effective rate): 90% in the TCM group,and only76.67% in the control group(p<0.05),manifesting that the efficacy in TCM group was better(p<0.05).(2)Antipyretic time: The body temperature of the patients in both groups can be reduced to normal(p <0.05),but the TCM group can bring down the fever faster than the conventional control group(p <0.05).(3)TCM syndrome scores: After treatment,the fraction of the two groups were decreased(p <0.05),but that in TCM group were reduced even more(p <0.05).(4)C-reactive protein: After treatment,the values of 60 patients were decreased,while C-reactive protein in patients of TCM group was lower(p <0.05).(5)ESR: After treatment,patients’ ESR in both groups were declined(p<0.05),while the value of the control groups was higher(p <0.05).(6)TSH,FT3,FT4: After treatment,the thyroid function of 60 patients improved a lot(p <0.05),while the improvement in the TCM group was more significant(p <0.05).(7)Safety evaluation: After treatment,no obvious abnormality was found in patient’s blood pressure,pulse,respiration.Results of three routine examinations(blood,urine and stool),liver and kidney function and ECG of the patients went well.There was no significant discomfort in the patient’s body.Conclusion: In treating phlegm-qi stagnation type SAT,TCM outweighs western medicine with slight adverse reactions.TCM has shown great potential in discomfort alleviation,western medicine indicators improvement,and minor discomfort period reduction,therefore,it deserves further exploration. |
