Objective:To compare and observe the similarities and differences of Taiji and Radio Gymnastics on the clinical symptoms and autonomic nervous function of FC patients, and to provide some research evidence for Taiji to improve functional gastrointestinal diseases.Methods:1.Four English electronic databases and three Chinese electronic databases were searched, the Taiji randomized controlled research literature in the past ten years were included. This paper reviews the design characteristics of clinical research program of Taijiquan from four aspects: the selection of Taiji, the intervention cycle, the intervention frequency, and the intervention duration, which could provide reference for the formulation of the clinical research program of Taiji intervention for functional constipation.2.Eighty FC patients were randomly divided into Taiji group and Radio Gymnastics group. Both groups of patients underwent exercise intervention 5 times a week,60 minutes each time, for a total of 40 times for 8 weeks. The Cleveland Constipation Score(CCS)and the Patient Assessment Constipation Quality of Life Questionnaire(PAC-QOL)were used as the efficacy evaluation indicators, and the Heart Rate Variability(HRV)was used to analyze and compare the changes, similarities and differences of clinical symptoms and autonomic nervous function activities within and between FC patients in the Taiji group and the Radio Gymnastics group.Results:1.A total of 235 articles were included in this study, with a total sample size of 21,954 cases, and the average single-group sample size was about 41 cases. In the Taiji intervention plan,24 form Taiji are/is often used as the intervention method. The intervention cycle, frequency, and duration of Taiji are mostly concentrated in 2 to 3 months,3 to 5 times a week and 30 to 60 minutes each time.2.Research on the influence of Taiji on the clinical symptoms and autonomic nervous function of patients with functional constipation(1)Evaluation of the clinical effects of Taiji and Radio Gymnastics on patients with functional constipation64 FC patients completed the trial,33 in the Taiji group and 31 in the Radio Gymnastics group.Intra-group comparison: After intervention, compared with before intervention, the total scores of CCS,PAC-QOL and sub-surface physical discomfort, psychosocial discomfort, worry and anxiety scores of FC patients in the Taiji group were significantly reduced(p<0.01);satisfaction scores were none statistical difference(p>0.05).The total scores of CCS,PAC-QOL and subsurface physical discomfort and satisfaction scores of FC patients in the wide sports group were significantly reduced(p<0.01);the PAC-QOL subsurface psychosocial discomfort scores were reduced(p<0.05),and the anxiety and depression scores were not statistical differences(p>0.05).Comparison between groups: After the intervention of the two groups of FC patients, the improvement of the CCS score of the Taiji group was better than that of the wide-body group(p<0.05);there was no difference between the improvement of the total score of PACQOL and the improvement of PAC-QOL sub-table(p>0.05).(2)The influence of Taiji and Radio Gymnastics on the autonomic nerves of patients with functional constipationIntra-group comparison: After the intervention, compared with before the intervention, the heart rate variability SDNN and SDANN of FC patients in the Taiji group significantly reduced(p<0.01);SDNNI,RMSSD,PNN50,LF,HF,LF/HF have no statistically difference(p>0.05).There was no statistically difference in the heart rate variability indexes of subjects in the Radio Gymnastics group(p>0.05).Comparison between groups: After the intervention of the two groups of FC patients, the SDNN improvement value of heart rate variability in the Taiji group was better than that of Radio Gymnastics group(p<0.05);there was no statistically difference among the other improvement groups(p>0.05).Conclusion:1.Taiji exercises can improve the clinical symptoms, physical discomfort, psychosocial discomfort, worry and anxiety of FC patients, and can improve their quality of life.2.Radio gymnastics exercises can improve the clinical symptoms, physical discomfort, psychosocial discomfort, and satisfaction of FC patients, and can improve their quality of life.3.The improvement of FC patients’ symptoms by Taiji may be related to its regulation of autonomic nervous function.
