| Promoting healthy aging among the elderly is an important measure to actively combat population aging.Multidimensional physiological and psychological health is a key indicator of health,and basic health insurance is an important factor affecting the protection of the health rights of the elderly.Considering the current serious trend of aging population in China,health insurance combines urban and rural residents in basic health insurance to close the protection gap.Considering the life cycle,the elderly,as a vulnerable group compared to other groups,are important for basic health insurance to ensure their health quality.Therefore,it is important to study the impact of basic health insurance and the health of the elderly,and to clarify the different effects of social basic health insurance policies on the health of the elderly,in order to increase the level of medical protection,improve the health and well-being of the elderly,and promote healthy aging of the population in this new era.Against this background,this paper focuses on the effects of social basic health insurance schemes on the health of the elderly.Firstly,the key concepts involved in this study are defined by combing through the research findings of scholars at home and abroad,followed by an elaboration of the theoretical basis.Secondly,the two main types of basic medical insurance covered in this paper are analyzed systematically;again,the impact effects of basic medical insurance and the health of the elderly are examined empirically based on data from the 2018 China Health and Pension Tracking Survey;finally,based on the findings,policy recommendations are put forward to improve the basic medical insurance system and improve the health of the elderly.The study found that,firstly,participation in basic medical insurance for urban workers had a significant contribution to the physical health and mental health of older people.Secondly,the regression coefficient of participation in basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents was positive but did not have a significant effect on the physical and mental health of the elderly.Thirdly,there were differences in the effects of basic medical insurance on the health of the elderly in terms of age and socialization.Fourth,basic demographic characteristics,health behavior factors and medical service factors basically significantly influenced the health of older people under the theoretical guidance of this paper.To ensure healthy ageing and a sound multi-level health insurance system for the elderly,this paper makes the following relevant recommendations.Firstly,raise the level of coordination of medical insurance and narrow the treatment gap between medical insurance in terms of funding and reimbursement;secondly,strengthen the prevention of diseases in the elderly together at multiple levels and attach importance to the physical health of the elderly along with mental health;thirdly,popularize the concept of lifelong education and encourage participation in elderly health education on physical and mental health knowledge;Fourth,provide formal and informal social support and promote the development of a multidisciplinary elderly services industry;Fifth,increase publicity efforts from the subject and information levels to improve residents’ awareness of medical insurance. |
