As an indispensable part of medical health work,nurses play a special as well as significant part in whole medical job.There are centralized medical resources and many outpatients as well as inpatients in comprehensive hospitals.Nurses have high workload,and nurses in wards of comprehensive hospitals have long contact time with patients.The competency of nurse working program is detailed and tedious,and its working hours have to change shifts,etc.Nursing work has its particularities.The competency of ward nurses affect the level of nursing work.Under this background,the multi-dimensional hypothesis of competent characteristic of nurses in wards is proposed.We establish the competency model of ward nurses in comprehensive hospitals in order to help nursing industry develop better.The research,on the basis of the principle of psychology,manpower resources as well as relevant principles,takes ward nurses in comprehensive hospitals as research objects.Working analysis,BEI interview,questionnaire survey,exploratory factor analysis as well as other ways are carried out.We established the model of competency of ward nurses in comprehensive hospitals and compiled the 《Self-assessment Questionnaire of Competent Characteristic of Ward Nurses in Comprehensive Hospitals》.Firstly,on the basis of previous related studies combed reference in this study,we sorted out the interview results and questionnaire statistical results and preliminarily constructed a model of competency of ward nurses in comprehensive hospitals through interviewing 20 ward nurses in comprehensive hospitals and issuing questionnaires survey.Then,we compiled and issued the predictive version of 《Self-assessment Questionnaire of Competency of Ward Nurses in Comprehensive Hospitals》.After statistical analysis and scientific improvement of the results from the returned questionnaires,the official version of 《 Self-assessment Questionnaire of Competency of Ward Nurses in Comprehensive Hospitals》was taken shape.Confirmatory factor analysis was carried out on the questionnaire and test,reliability and validity of group of study on the overall analysis and difference of inspection.The conclusions of the research are showed below:(1)The model of competency of ward nurses in comprehensive hospitals is composed of many multiple dimensions: organizational management ability,human communication ability,characteristics of achievement,speciality accomplishment as well as individual characteristics.(2)Through scientific testing of 《 Self-assessment Questionnaire of Competent Characteristic of Ward Nurses in Comprehensive Hospitals》,it can be indicated questionnaire has great confidence level and effectiveness.The consequences of the study show the competent characteristic clearly of this investigation group;It can provide theoretical basis for hospital assessment,selection,employment and training of ward nurses,and provide reference for ward nurses to improve their own ability and improve their core competitiveness.(3)The overall situation of competency of ward nurses in comprehensive hospitals is good,but there are some distinctions in demographic variables,for example working years,academic qualifications as well as professional title,etc.There is no evident distinction of gender;In terms of academic qualifications,organizational management ability,human communication ability,characteristics of achievement,speciality accomplishment and individual characteristics,the degree of academic qualifications is higher,the difference is more significant.There is the most significant difference between the lowest age,the shortest working years,the lowest professional title and the highest age,the longest working years and the highest professional title.There are significant differences in all above five factors.
