Adaption To Communicative Context In Novel Dialogue Translation

Verschueren divided context into two categories,communicative context and linguistic context.This paper focuses on communicative context,which consists of mental world,social world and physical world.The Adaption theory provides a new angle for translation study and can explain novel dialogue translation in a powerful way.This paper explains how to adapt to communicative context with examples from Shopaholic to the Rescue.By taking example analysis,this paper aims to provide valuable reference for novel translation and improve the translation quality of novel dialogues.
