A Report On The Translation Of Annual Report On Economic And Social Development Of Yangzhou (2017) From The Perspective Of Newmark’s Translation Theory

This report is based on the author’s translation of Annual Report on Economic and Social Development of Yangzhou(2017).The report introduces development of Yangzhou from economic and social perspectives in 2017.When he translates the target text,the author found so many differences,especially in terms of expression,collocation syntactic structure and writing style.The author tried to analyze the source text under the guidance of Newmark’s theory of communicative translation and semantic translation.This thesis seeks for practice for translation,applies the learned theories to solve the difficulties encountered by the author in the process,and finally finds out appropriate ways to translate.This practice report is divided into four parts.The first part is the overall framework of social development report of Yangzhou in 2017 and the significance of the study.The second part tells the preparation before translation,including the background knowledge,the understanding of translation theory framework as well as the preparation of language knowledge.The third part is a case study,the difficulties encountered in translation,solutions and the application of communicative theory are included.The fourth part is the summary of this thesis,pointing out the problems in the translation,and offering recommendations for future study.
