An Analysis Of The Quality Assessment In Simultaneous Interpreting Of Live Webcast

In recent years,with the continuous development of information technology,Internet media are becoming more and more international,where there are a lot of events broadcast globally.It cleared a great number of boundaries for people to see the world.Simultaneous interpreting of live webcast,as one of the new products of the information era,greatly improves the efficiency of live broadcast.This paper aims at assessing the quality of simultaneous interpreting of live webcast so as to find the common problems in this field and provide ways for interpreters to improve the quality of simultaneous interpreting.The research findings show that the performance of the interpreter in 2018 Tencent Neo-Culture Creativity Eco-Conference is not satisfying,which is mainly because of the interpreter’s inadequate interpreting ability and low psychological quality.There are five chapters in this paper.It firstly reviews the history and current situation of interpreting quality assessment in China and the west.Secondly,the paper defines and introduces the simultaneous interpreting of live webcast with a focus on the characteristics and difficulties of simultaneous interpreting of live webcast,and its types of contents and the status quo,and then describes information fidelity and information units of assessment.Thirdly,the paper adopts the method of observation and takes 2018 Tencent Neo-Culture Creativity Eco-Conference as an example to analyze the quality of the simultaneous interpreting from the perspective of information fidelity.After that,how to improve the quality of simultaneous interpreting of live webcast is discussed.Finally,the paper presents the research limitations and makes suggestions for future studies.
