A Report On Escort Interpreting Of Red Scenic Spots In Luding County Sichuan Province From The Perspective Of Adaptation Theory

With the sustained growth of China’s economy,people’s demand for tourism is on the rise,and cultural tourism has also attracted the attention of foreign tourists.As the carrier of China’s red culture,the red culture scenic spot and its international translation can better display China’s cultural deposits to foreign tourists.However,many red tourist attractions are located in remote areas,so there are many restrictions on the spread of red culture.Because of this,this report did research on Red Tourism escort interpretation and discussed how to translate the commentary of red scenic spots under the guidance of Adaptation Theory,to realize the purpose of spreading red culture.The practice content of this report is the author’s interpretation of the tour guide’s commentaries during a two-day trip in Luding County.The author focused on three aspects of adaptation in interpreting practice: cultural context adaptation,linguistic structure adaptation and intended audience adaptation.In this report,the author chose Adaptation Theory as theoretical support,analyzed the difficulties and problems in Red Tourism translation,and put forward different translation strategies such as literal translation,omission and paraphrase,etc.,in order to achieve the purpose and effect of the dissemination of Red Tourism resources.By analyzing the cases provided by the author,the author classified the problems and tried to explored how to adapt to the interpretation of Red Tourism.Through this practice,the author owned a better apprehension of escort interpretation.By writing this report,the author hoped to provide some references for other interpreters in the field of Red Tourism translation.
