Writing skill is an important language skill in English learning,which refers to a basic skill for expressing the content of thoughts in a written way and reflect the comprehensive language level of students.English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools has a clear requirement for writing: students can comprehend the text and use them for simple descriptions.With the advancement of English curriculum reform,English teacher has gradually realized the important role of writing in English teaching.Especially in the new media era of global integration,digitization of networks,and cultural diversification,the rapid development of science and technology has promoted the rapid development of education and teaching methods,The study gradually presented multi-modal characteristics of learning content,which has promoted the diversity of teaching modes.Applying multi-modal teaching theory to English writing teaching will help strengthen students teaching content,optimize teaching effects,cultivate and improve students’ multi-modal learning ability,stimulate their imagination and creativity,and improve their writing skills effectively.This paper raises the following questions:(1)whether multi-modal teaching can promote written achievements;(2)whether multi-modal teaching can improve students’ ability to understand and select materials;(3)whether multi-modal teaching can improve writing language expression.Aiming at the above problems,the researcher using teaching experiments,questionnaire surveys and interviews and other research methods,in a senior high school in Liaocheng,100 students from two teaching classes were selected as experimental subjects,and one-semester teaching experiment.During the experiment used the pre-test,post-test,questionnaire survey and student interviews.After the experiment,the researcher used a questionnaire to collect experimental data to confirm the impact of multi-modal teaching on high school writing learning interest.The researcher collected the students’ writing scores,compared and analyzed them with SPSS25.0 software.The hypothesis that teachers using multi-modal symbol resources in English writing classes can help students effectively improve their English writing ability.Through post-experiment interviews,learn about students’ learning feeling in using multi-modal teaching.The research findings are as follows: Based on multi-modal teaching mode,high school English writing teaching,teachers use multi-modal resources to teach in the teaching process.Students can improve their ability to understand and select materials for writing;students can enrich their writing language content and improve their language expression skills;students also can enhance their interest in writing studies and improve their written expression scores.Research has proved that multi-modal writing mode is effective in senior high school English writing.
