| Since the reform and opening up,economically developed cities or regions have developed urban villages under the rapid urbanization development,which is a unique social structure and phenomenon.Urban villages are not only a gathering place for urban mobile population,but also an important place to practice urbanization construction.In recent years,the transformation of urban villages has mostly adopted the model of redevelopment.Although this process has changed the physical space,the ecosystem behind it has also suffered severe damage,especially for villages with a certain historical and cultural value.Achieving harmonious coexistence with urban development while protecting cultural values has become a difficult problem for local governments in the transformation and governance of urban villages.The ancient city of Nantou,located in Nanshan District,Shenzhen,is an urban village that integrates multiple forms of historical sites and abandoned factories.In 2017,the Shenzhen municipal government adopted the strategy of involving public cultural services in the transformation of the ancient city of Nantou,the Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture,a city cultural platform,provides an alternative experimental opportunity for the transformation of the ancient city of Nantou and the urban village in a broader sense through spatial renewal,architectural and artistic intervention,and organization of cultural events.This article will take the ancient city of Nantou as a case to analyze and study the problems and optimization strategies of public cultural services involved in the process of urban village transformation through in-depth interviews and information mining.In terms of content,including the public cultural service project-How will the 2017 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture involve in the transformation of the ancient city of Nantou? The main body,method and process of involvement;what positive effects does the involvement of public cultural services have on the transformation of the ancient city of Nantou? What problems and dilemmas existed during the involvement process,as well as the inspiration and thoughts brought by the case.Structurally,the basic concepts and existing related research conclusions are explained first;the second chapter describes the case in detail,reviews the entire process of the Biennial’s involvement in the transformation of the ancient city of Nantou,and summarizes the ways of involvement and the resulting influences.The third chapter summarizes and analyzes the problems that actually occurred during the involvement process based on the Multiple governance theory;the fourth chapter summarizes the thoughts and enlightenment brought by the case based on the Multiple governance theory.Compared with other urban village transformation studies,this article is based on the perspective of public cultural services.It focuses on the problems that will or may occur when public cultural services serve as the driving force for urban village transformation and update.It is hoped that through the practice of the transformation of the ancient city of Nantou,it will provide realistic case references and inspiration for the transformation and renewal of other urban villages,space activation,and value reconstruction. |
