| Since March 2011,the listening section of the written examination paper has been cancelled for the first time,and the listening and speaking section of the test paper has been replaced by the computer-assisted listening and speaking test,or CELST.Three years after the implementation of the reform,the number of students taking the listening and speaking test for the college entrance examination in Guangdong Province has reached 810,000.The purpose of this reform is to lead senior high school English teachers to carry out more listening and speaking teaching and training,and urge English teachers to change the traditional "cramming" teaching method,to promote the comprehensive development of students’ English language ability.However,since the implementation of the listening and speaking test for the college entrance examination in Guangdong Province,it has not reached the goal of the advocates,the main problem is that the English listening and speaking ability of high school students in mountainous areas of the county is generally lower than that of students in developed cities.The main reason for this problem is that the English teachers in mountainous high schools in the county have poor English listening and speaking teaching ability and classroom management ability.Besides,the county area and mountainous area high school English listening and speaking classroom management problem has affected the listening and speaking classroom teaching effect seriously.Therefore,to study the problems existing in the classroom management of English listening and speaking classes in high schools in mountainous areas of the county,it is of great significance to analyze the causes of the problems and put forward effective strategies to improve the quality of English listening and speaking class.By using the methods of Literature Research,questionnaire,interview and observation,this paper investigates the current situation of English listening and speaking classroom management in Senior High School of M Middle School in a county of Guangdong Province,this paper analyzes the problems and their causes,and finally puts forward some concrete strategies to solve the problems in the classroom management of English listening and speaking class in M Middle School.Therefore,this paper is mainly composed of the following four parts.The first part,carding the elements of senior high school English listening and speaking class management,explain the importance of senior high school English listening and speaking class management.The second part,uncover the existing problems in the classroom management of English listening and speaking class in M Middle School.This part reveals the problems in the classroom management of English listening and speaking class in M middle school by analyzing the data from questionnaires and interviews.The main problems are that the objectives of teachers’ classroom management are not clear,the classroom rules are not perfect,the implementation is not in place,the classroom lacks interactivity and the classroom atmosphere is not active enough,there are many problems in the classroom,such as improper behavior and teachers’ lack of proper evaluation of students’ classroom learning effect.The third part analyzes the cause of the English listening and Speaking Class Management problem of M Middle School.The causes of the problems in the classroom management of English listening and speaking class in M middle school mainly include the outdated management concepts of teachers,the weak ability of teachers in classroom management and the poor ability of students in selfmanagement,education evaluation system is not perfect,and schools’ training of teachers’ classroom management skills is not enough.The fourth part,proposes the solution of M Middle School senior high school English listening and speaking class management existence problems.These solutions include renewing teachers’ outmoded management concepts,improving teachers’ consciousness and ability of classroom management,improving students’ ability of self-management,and establishing reasonable school system,strengthening the training of teachers’ classroom management skills. |
