Under the background of national education informatization vigorously promoting teaching reform,how to integrate information technology into the teaching practice of various subjects effectively has become an urgent need in the field of education.Mobile learning is closely related to the development of information technology,and plays a positive role in language learning,especially second language learning,with its unique learning mode.As a network teaching platform independently developed in China,Mosoteach platform has been used as a teaching platform by most of the vocational colleges.The major feature of the platform is that it emphasizes the teachers’ personalized and independent teaching design.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the mobile learning mode based on this platform.In this study,100 students from two classes of nursing major in Weinan Vocational and Technical College are selected as the experimental subjects for 15 weeks of teaching experiment.For the experimental class,the students implement mobile learning based on Mosoteach platform.For the control class,the students carry out usual learning mode with independently scanning QR code of network resources.In order to emphasize the teacher’s personalized teaching design on Mosoteach platform,this study adopts the five steps of scaffolding theory that He Kekang proposed,combined with constructivist learning theory as a guidance.The five steps of applying scaffolding instruction include building scaffolding,entering the situation,independent exploration,collaborative learning and the effect evaluation.By and large,this study compares the effectiveness of mobile learning based on Mosoteach platform with that of usual learning mode for the following research questions.(1)Can mobile learning based on Mosoteach platform motivate students’ interest in English learning?(2)What’s the effect of mobile learning based on Mosoteach platform on enhancing students’ self-study ability?(3)How can mobile learning based on Mosoteach platform promote students’ self-efficacy?(4)What is the change of students’ English achievement through mobile learning based on Mosoteach platform?Qualitative and quantitative research methods are applied in this study,involving classroom observation,questionnaire and test.Through the analysis of the results of questionnaire survey and classroom observation,it is found that most of the students in the experimental class have improved their enthusiasm for English learning through mobile learning based on Mosoteach platform,besides,Mosoteach platform’s application function is very helpful to promote students’ interest in English learning.Teachers’ scaffolding instruction is beneficial to the cultivation of students’ self-study habit and the improvement of their self-study ability.Diversified interactive activities enhanced students’ self-efficacy through mobile learning based on Mosoteach platform.Through the analysis of the test results,it can be seen that students in the control class have made slight progress,but the difference is not obvious,while students in the experimental class have made overall progress,and the difference is significant.Based on the above findings,the research put forward suggestions on three aspects:teachers first need to help students learn how to do with information technology,teachers should consider to apply graded teaching according to student’s ZPD,and teachers need to move towards the best teaching design to help learners become more independent.
