| The research aims to explore the impact of life events and resilience on the depression of migrant children and its underlying mechanism.Adolescent Self-Rating Life Event Check List(ASLEC),Children’s Depression Inventory(CDI),Adolescent Resilience Inventory were used to survey 657 migrant children who are from three schools and in grades four through eight.In addition,the intervention plan was designed according to the results of the investigation.Forty children with high depression level were randomly divided into a control group and an intervention group.Group counseling was implemented on the intervention group.Result:(1).The scores of boy’s emotion control were significantly higher than that of the girl’s,and the scores of boy’s interpersonal assistance were significantly lower than that of the girl’s.In resilience and positive cognition,the scores of living with parents for more than six months were significantly higher than those of migrant children who lived with their parents for less than six months.In the emotional control and family support,the seventh-grade scores were significantly lower than other grades.In the positive cognitive,fifth-grade scores were significantly lower than other grades.In the ineffectiveness dimension of depression,fourth grade scores were significantly lower than other grades.(2).Life events were significantly positively correlated with depression and significantly negatively correlated with resilience.Depression was negatively correlated with resilience.(3).Life event were significantly positively predicting the depression of migrant children and the relationship between life events and depression was partially mediated by resilience.(4).Based on positive psychology,group counseling was designed and implemented for the purpose of improving resilience.After 8 timesgroup counseling,the resilience score of intervention group was significantly higher than that of control group and the depression score of intervention group was significantly lower than that of control group.Conclusion:Resilience and depression of migrant children are significantly different on the part of the demographic variables.Life event not only can directly affect the depression of the migrant children,but also can indirectly affect the depression through the mediating effect of resilience.Moreover,the group counseling can effectively improve the resilience of migrant children and effectively alleviate the depression of migrant children. |
