Electronic Sports games are the product of the interaction between people and technology in the new era,and they have gradually become a sport that is accepted by the public. With the growth of their popularity, the stigma of violence caused by Internet addiction has been gradually removed. Many researchers gradually pay attention to the characteristics of the players’ better cognitive thinking behind video games.Based on the previous theory of grouping effect in the multi-objective tracking paradigm(MOT),this study further explores the reasons for the performance differences between video game players and non-players.The study 1 focused on exploring the differences between players and non-players under the grouping effect of motion information.Using 2,3 hybrid design, the intergroup factors(players and non-players),the intra-group factors were three different task types of target and non-target motion information, and the dependent variable was the tracking accuracy. After repeated measurement analysis of variance, the results show that the tracking ability of players is significantly higher than that of non-players.The grouping effect based on motion information is the same as the previo us research results. The player population each task level is significantly higher than the non-player population. In study 2,study 3,we discuss the differences between players and non-players in the performance of group effect based on motion informatio n under common surface features(color/shape).In the two sub-experiments,the subjects did not participate in the experiment repeatedly, and the experiment was designed with 2,6 mixed multi-factor experiment. The inter-group factors(players and non-players)and the intra-group factors were 2 kinds of motion information and 3 kinds of common surface feature objects combined task types(color/shape in the same condition,color/shape in the different condition,color/shape in the mixed condition),and the dependent variable was the tracking accuracy. The results of repeated measurement analysis of variance in the two experiments show that there is a significant difference in the grouping effect based on motion information between players and non-players under the condition that the surface features are of different shapes. The six task conditions were effective and significantly different from each other, and it was found after comparison that the difference was different in the tracking accuracy between the two groups under different shape conditions based on different motion information. In study 4,we discuss the performance differences of group effect based on motion information between players and non-players under speed characteristics.2,6 mixed multi-factor experimental design was used. The intergroup factors(players and non-players)and the intra-group factors were 2 different target speed objects(the same target speed and 2 times the target speed)under 3 different motion information, the dependent variable was the tracking accuracy.According to the repeated measurement anova, there is a significant difference in the grouping effect based on motion information between players and non-players under the condition that the surface features are of differe nt shapes. The six task conditions were effective and significantly different from each other, and the differences were obtained after comparison.Final conclusions:(1)Both video game players and non-players followed the grouping effect with motion information, and neither the common surface features(color and shape)nor the speed feature information affected the grouping effect based on motion information, but both types of grouping information were used at the same time.(2)The tracking ability of video game players is better than that of non-players in the multi-target tracking task based on the grouping effect of motion information.(3)In a multi-target tracking task with the grouping effect of motion information,it is easier for players to effectively utilize surface feature information(color and shape)and internal feature information(speed)to improve tracking performance.
