| This is a translation report.The source text of this report is Chapter 29 of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017 of the United Kingdom which is primarily concerned with the creation of two new bodies to regulate and fund higher education providers.The translation of the Higher Education and Research Act of the United Kingdom is intended to provide guiding suggestions or reference for the regulation of the higher education in China.Frequent use of nominalization,complicated sentences,varied forms of section heading,etc.in the source text poses great translation challenges to the translation of this Act.In respect to these translation challenges,such translation method and techniques as literal translation,recombination,splitting,etc.are tentatively proposed,and the process of translation and the underlining reasons for the proposed translation methods and techniques are expounded in detail.It is hoped that this report can shed light on the translation of similar legal texts. |
