Female Somaesthetics From The Perspective Of Contemporary Consumption

With the coming of the consumption age,women’s bodies are becoming increasingly prominent.After a long period of depression,the body’s desire and desire for the body can be released in consumption.With the rapid development of technology,consumerism,relying on the mass media,has opened the door of "freedom" for women’s bodies and made them get the most incisive expression.With the great wealth of material and the improvement of medical level,people’s attention to the body has shifted from survival needs to aesthetic consumption,especially aesthetic surgery.This means that the power of technology goes beyond the limits of the body.Once the body becomes something that can be shaped arbitrarily,it falls into the snare of power discourse and ideology.For women,their body shape is first monitored by the traditional patriarchy;secondly,the formation of consumer society means that capital power is everywhere,and it also participates in this monitoring as the contemporary "new patriarchy";finally,both patriarchy and capital can be classified as ideology in essence.As far as body shaping is concerned,the role of ideology is embodied in the management of the state machine of ideology,the infiltration of aesthetic ideology and the echo of self technology to the former two.In the face of the dilemma of female body in the contemporary society,how to find the true self becomes an urgent matter.This paper holds that the key to breaking through is to return to the body and restore the perceptual existence of the body.As the current body dilemma is fundamentally the plight of women,we should first seek a breakthrough from the perspective of women’s Liberation;secondly,in view of the operation of power,this paper puts forward three deviating strategies--meta criticism,mobility and misunderstanding--to resist;from the most extensive and fundamental level,the body’s dilemma is actually a problem encountered by human society in the process of development,that is,the human nature is gradually annihilated in the alienation of consumption.If we want to reach the real existence of human beings,the individual’s return to the body is very important.This regression can be summarized into the following three dimensions: first,we should observe and think about the existence of human beings,the world in which human beings live and the relationship between them through the perceptual body;second,in the body aesthetics,we should respect the particularity and independence of individuals,and refuse to follow the current and thousands of people;Third,the pursuit of true body aesthetics requires us to achieve our own creative generation through independent practice.All in all,this paper aims to emphasize the female body dilemma reflected from the current generalization of cosmetic surgery,as well as the reflection and breakthrough of this dilemma.
