| With the development of social information and economic globalization,English is becoming more and more important.It has naturally become a popular subject in primary schools,which has aroused widespread concern in schools and parents.Carrying out English teaching and research activities has become one of the main ways to improve primary English teachers’ teaching standards and their abilities in classroom teaching.However,in rural areas,many rural primary schools have encountered many problems in carrying out English teaching and research activities,For example,the form of teaching and research activities is relative single,the English teaching and research activities doesn’t give full play to teachers as a main body,the peer teachers reciprocal teaching evaluation is not systematic and comprehensive,and the teachers’ self-reflection in teaching is not enough.In order to learn the issues of English teaching and research activities in rural primary schools in Guizhou province,the writer examined both the literature review and field investigation with the methods of literature,questionnaire,observations and personal interview in five primary schools in X town of Anshun City.Then,from the perspective of action research,this dissertation,in the level of the relevant concepts and theories,has carried out two action researches by the circular mode of action research to improve the existing problems of teaching and research activities in five primary schools in X Town of Anshun City.Finally the writer carried out data-collecting and analysis in detail,evaluation and rethinking profoundly.This research is divided into five parts.The first chapter is the introduction,in view of the common problems in English teaching and research activities,the writer established the research topics,and clarified the background and significance as well as the research purposes and questions of this task.The second chapter is the related concept,theories and literature review,the writer expounds the concept and main types of the teaching and research activities,and she introduces the theory of constructivism,the teachers’ professional development and reflective teaching theory;besides,the writer reviews the teaching and research activities and action research both from the domestic and foreign researches.The third chapter is the design of action research program of English teaching and research activities in Guizhou rural primary school,the writer makes a concrete explanation of the research objective,research method and existing problems,after that she draws up the research project by herself.The fourth chapter is the implementation of action research program of English teaching and research activities in Guizhou rural primary schools.The writer conducted two rounds of action researches by using class evaluation,teacher interviews and student interviews,each action research follows the basic requirements of action research,the time of each action research is for one semester,and the teaching and research activities have observation,competition and Monograph.Then,the results and reflection are described out by some data analyses.The fifth chapter is the conclusion of the study,the deficiency and some feasible suggestions.The writer elaborates the achievements of primary school English teaching and research activities in remote rural area,then the writer points out the elaboration to this research insufficiency and gives some suggestions for its future development. |
