Clean energy is the main energy source in the future transformation of energy.Increasing infrastructure investment in clean energy is conducive to stimulating the overall development of the world economy.Mobilizing clean energy investments will also improve energy security and reduce excessive dependence on fossil fuels,helping to reduce air pollution and mitigate global climate change.Western researchers have made great achievements in clean energy investment,which are worthy of our learning and reference.In view of this,it is very important for the translator to select research results on clean energy for Chinese translation in this translation practice.The source text of this translation practice is excerpted from the book called Policy Guidance for Investment in Clean Energy Infrastructure:Expanding Access to Clean Energy for Green Growth and Development,which was published by the OECD Publishing in 2017.Based on the translation practice,the report is divided into four parts:The first part briefly describes the translation task,including the introduction of source material,features of the source text as well as the purpose and significance of the task.The second part introduces the process of translation,detailing pre-translation preparation,translation process and quality control of the translation task.As the core of the report,the third part mainly includes case analysis from lexical,syntactic and discourse levels guided by Newmark’s Text Typology Theory.The fourth part is the conclusion of the translation task,summing up the translator’s enlightenment and experience in this practice,and giving some suggestions about the translation of such informative texts.When translating informative texts,the translator can appropriately apply some translation methods and strategies under the guidance of the Text Typology Theory,so that the translation can accurately and objectively convey the content of the original text.In addition,through the translation task and the writing of the practical report,the translator not only enhances her translation ability,but also improves her skills of language organization,analysis and expression.
