A Report On C-E Translation Of "Research On Comprehensive Waterproof Technology Of Underground Prefabricated Metro Station"

The prefabricated metro station is becoming more and more popular with the advantages of high-speed construction,economic space occupation and low impact.However,the development of prefabricated metro station in China is in its initial stage,and its construction methods are being studied and improved,especially the waterproof technology.The translation task can make foreign scholars have a good understanding of the research on waterproof technology of prefabricated metro station in China and promote the communication on waterproof technology between China and the West.The source text of this report is a paper titled "Research on Comprehensive Waterproof Technology of Underground Prefabricated Metro Station".According to Newmark’s Text Typology Theory,the source text is an informative text.This report studies the translation process and techniques of informative texts.It consists of four chapters:Chapter One is task description,which introduces the source and features of the source text and significance of the translation task.Chapter Two is translation procedure including preparation before translation,translation process and quality control.Chapter Three is case analysis,a core part of this report,analyzing the cases under the guidance of Text Typology Theory at the lexical,syntactic,and discourse levels.Chapter Four is a summary of translation reflections and unsolved problems.Through translating the source text and composing the report,the author has a good understanding of the translation of informative texts.During the translation process,the translator should apply proper translation methods and techniques with considering the stylistic and linguistic features of source text to ensure that the translated text can transmit the information of source text objectively.
