If you listen to both sides, you will be wise;if you listen to one side, you will be dark.Advice from others can not only improve the quality of decision, but also relieve the pressure of decision makers to make decisions alone to some extent.Advice-taking is the process by which decision makers make the final decisions based on the advice of others.People tend to make decisions based on the analytical system and the intuitive system.Similarly, advisers will judge and process relevant information based on these two systems to make advice for others. Thus,Tzioti et al.divided advice into two categories: analytical and intuitive. This study based on this classification, follow the Judge-Adviser System(JAS)paradigm, through three experiments to explore the degree to which decision makers take the two types of advice and from two aspects of adviser and decision makers in the adjustment,in order to provide theoretical basis for people to make advice and take advice in daily social contact and education. In the first study, single factor three levels(advise type: analytical advice, intuitive advice and the control group)were took for inter-subject design to preliminarily explore the influence of advice type on advice-taking.The results showed that the main effect of advice type was significant, and the acceptance degree of the analytical advice was significantly higher than that of the control group and the intuitive advice, while the acceptance of the intuitive advice was significantly lower than that of the control group. The second study on the basis of the first study, from the angle of adviser feature, introduced the variable of the confidence level of the adviser, using 2(advice type:analytical and intuitive)× 2(the adviser’s confidence level: high and low)mixed experimental design, which suggested that type of variable between subjects, adviser’s confidence level for variable,in subjects adviser to further explore the confidence level will affect decision makers to take different kinds of advice. The results showed that the main effect of advice type was significant, and the acceptance of analytical advice was significantly higher than that of intuitive advice. The main effect of adviser’s confidence level was significant. The higher the adviser ’s confidence level, the higher the acceptance degree of the advice. The interaction between advice type and adviser’s confidence level was significant. The gap of advice-taking degree between the analytical advice group and the intuitive advice group under the condition of high and low adviser confidence level was significantly smaller than that between the intuitive advice group and the intuitive advice group under the two conditions. The third study from the perspective of the characteristics of the decision-maker,introduced the variable of the decision-maker’s sense of power, the semantic priming method and situational recall method are used to activate the subjects’ sense of high and low power,2(advice type: intuitive and analytical)×2(decision-maker’s sense of power:high, low)was taken as the inter-subject design to explore whether decision-maker’s sense of power would affect decision-makers’ adoption of different types of advice. The results showed that the main effect of advice type was significant, and the adoption degree of the intuitive advice group was significantly lower than that of the analytical advice group. The main effect of decision-makers’ sense of power is significant. The higher the level of decision-maker’s sense of power, the less willing the decision maker is to accept others’ advice. The interaction between advice type and sense of power is significant. At the low level of the sense of power, the adoption degree of the analytical advice was much higher than that of the intuitive advice. But at high power level, the gap between the two narrowed rapidly, and adoption of various advice was very low.
