| Dunhuang Grottoes include Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes,West thousand Buddha cave,East thousand Buddha cave in Guazhou,Yulin cave in Anxi and five temples in Subei.The time of this paper is defined as the Xixia period.The Grottoes in this paper are Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang,Yulin Grottoes in Anxi,five temples in Subei,East thousand Buddha cave in Guazhou and Hanxia grottoes.According to the available information,there are 12 music and dance caves built in Dunhuang Grottoes in Xixia,including 4 Mogao Grottoes,2Yulin grottoes,3 dongqianfo grottoes,2 Subei five temples and 2 Hanxia Grottoes in Guazhou.These caves seek common ground while reserving differences in form and content,and are the treasure house of Xixia art.This paper is divided into four parts.This paper mainly studies the dance images in the Xixia caves of Dunhuang Grottoes.Using the methods of iconology,music history,comparative study and archaeology,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the dance images in the Xixia caves in Dunhuang Grottoes.The first is to analyze the social background of the Dunhuang Grottoes’ music and dance murals,and have a general understanding of the Dunhuang Grottoes;the second is to sort out the dance images in the Xixia grottoes,and master a large number of image data;and then to make a comprehensive and detailed interpretation of the image data,so as to classify the Xixia dance in the Dunhuang Grottoes and find out the similarities and differences Finally,according to the research of dance images,we pay attention to the development characteristics of Xixia dance,so as to further understand the development of Xixia dance in Dunhuang at that time and its position and value in the history of Chinese dance.The first part mainly discusses the era background of Dunhuang Grottoes music and dance murals,from the geographical location,religious beliefs,cultural exchanges to start the narrative,so as to understand the real role and influence of music and dance in the society at that time.The second part is to sort out the music and dance images of the caves built in the Western Xia Dynasty in Dunhuang Grottoes,and explain the music and dance phenomena in each of the caves built in the Western Xia Dynasty in the form of tables.Dunhuang Grottoes center on Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes.To the East are the East thousand Buddha cave and Hanxia Grottoes in Guazhou County,and Yulin Grottoes in Anxi County;to the south are the five Temple Grottoes in Subei Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture.This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the music and dance images of Dunhuang Grottoes,including musical instruments and their use as dance tools in dance.The dance part mainly classifies them from the form of expression,and focuses on the dance part,so as to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the music and dance images.The third part,after a comprehensive understanding of music and dance images,combined with Xixia music and dance art,analyzes the development and characteristics of Xixia dance,so as to see the influence of Xixia dance in the history of Chinese dance. |
