| English writing is one of the basic language skills that junior middle school students need to master.Based on the description of the writing aims in English Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education(2011),students are asked to write with rich words and phrases.And students need to use linking words in writing,which reflects the logic of their compositions.However,students lack of words in writing,and words that students use are simple and single.And connectives are rarely used by students in writing.Therefore,there is no cohesion in students’ writing.Furthermore,teachers still teach students using a traditional method,which is adverse for students to boost their skills of writing.Thus,for teachers,it is very necessary to teach students to grasp writing skills and enhance the writing level.In this research,the author designed three research questions to prove whether mind mapping is helpful to students’ writing.Firstly,how does the application of mind mapping to English writing help students improve their emotional attitude towards English writing?Secondly,what is the effect of the application of mind mapping to students’ language in English writing? Thirdly,what is the effect of the application of mind mapping to English writing on students’ academic achievement?There are two research methods in this research.They are questionnaires and tests respectively.From the result of the questionnaires and tests,the author draws conclusions that firstly,students’ emotions towards English writing are promoted by learning mind mapping.Students are more interested in writing.And their confidence in writing has been improved.Secondly,mind mapping enhance students’ language in English writing.Students’ vocabulary is enriched and the cohesion of their compositions is strengthened.Thirdly,mind mapping is more effective in the improvement of students’ academic achievement. |
