An Interpretation Of The Cultural Symbols In The Russian TV Series "How I Became Russian" From The Perspective Of Lotman’s Flim Semiotic

The rapid development of globalization has made all countries strive to show their people with the best “national image”.When building a national image,exporting domestic film and television works has become an important way to expand the country’s influence.“Cross-cultural communication” builds a bridge to enhance the understanding between different countries and nations.The difference between the culture of the imported foreign film and television works and the culture of the country makes it more difficult to watch the film,and it is particularly important to analyze the culture behind the film,so as to promote cultural exchanges.This research is based on the well-received domestically acclaimed film and television drama “How I Became Russian”,based on Lotman’s film semiotics as the main theoretical basis,to find out the film and television work “How I Became Russian”Character symbols,music symbols,and image symbols that can show the characteristics of Russian culture,through the analysis of these symbols,in order to interpret the Russian culture represented behind the film and television works.The main body of the paper is divided into four chapters:Chapter one is the introduction to the general chapter.The main content is about the main research and development background of the subject,its main research and development goals and significance,and a brief summary of the relevant academic literature.This research is based on Lotman’s film semiotics,and first briefly introduces the development of semiotics and the research status at home and abroad.Chapter two is the theoretical part,combing the development source of semiotics in detail,and the ideological origin of film semiotics.The main characteristic of Lotman’s semiotic linguistics is that it has fully studied the theoretical traditions of early structuralism linguistics during the Gothic Saussure period and absorbed the essence of the technical thinking of Pierce’s semiotics,and developed and surpassed it.The theoretical research of predecessors,and Lotman’s research covers a wide range,and the research results are recognized.Therefore,this research chooses Lotman’s film semiotics as the research theoretical guide.Chapter three analyzes the cultural symbols in the film and television drama “How I Became Russian”,finds symbols with cultural significance,and divides them into three types: character symbols,visual symbols and auditory symbols.The study has different cultural backgrounds.What cultural misunderstandings do people have.Explain the national image represented by the character symbols and the Russian culture represented by the interaction of audiovisual symbols.Chapter four summarizes the cultural significance of “How I Became Russian” and the impact of a successful film and television work.Compared with the bleak box office of the movie version,the film and television series “How I Became Russian” can be regarded as a great success,which to a certain extent shows that Chinese audiences not only accept Russian film and television works,but also have a clear idea about the quality of the film and television works.Consider.This research analyzes the cultural symbols in “How I Became Russian” to increase the audience’s understanding of Russian culture,and on the basis of providing high-quality movies for Chinese people,it also pave the way for the introduction of future Russian film and television dramas.
