Simultaneous Interpretation Strategies Under The Interpretive Theory ——A Report On The Simulated Simultaneous Interpretation Of 2018 World Economic Forum

Nowadays,the cross-cultural communication is more universal in the world with the deepening integration of the world economy.The World Economic Forum has gradually become an important international platform for communication where people talk about the tendency of world economy in the future.With the development and advance of scientific technology,especially the development and application of big data,people’s life has been hugely changed in an all-round way.Who will control these data finally and how will big data change people’s destiny?Yuval Harari,a distinguished scholar and well-known professor has given a lecture on the hot topic on the 2018 World Economic Forum.The interpreter took the lecture given by Yuval Harari on the 2018 World Economic Forum as a case to make a simulated simultaneous interpretation.Under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory,the interpreter made analysis and improvement of the sentences that were difficulties in the practice and made a list of these sentences with interpretation of two kinds of versions.Through the comparison of two versions of interpretation,the interpreter found out that the Interpretive Theory could help solve these major problems in interpretation.Based on the triangular model,an interpreter should thoroughly understand the original language and add relevant cognitive complement in re-expression after deverbalization.The interpreter also found out that addition,supplementary explanation,sentence restructuring,omission,transition of conjunction and comprehensive application of strategies could be employed in simultaneous interpretation to effectively improve the quality of the interpretation.The purpose of the study is to improve the quality of interpretation by using proper interpretation strategies.Under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory,high-quality interpretation can better express the speaker’s meaning and make the target audience better understand the content of the speech.
