Boris Victorovich Savinkov(1879-1925)was a Russian revolutionary and writer.During the czarist period, under the influence of family environment and social environment,Savinkov gradually embarked on the revolutionary road.At first he participated in the student revolution movement as a Marxist, then joined the Battle Organization of Social Revolutionary Party, and planned many revolutionary terrorist activities, convinced that terror is the only way out of the Russian revolution. After the attack on revolutionary terror in 1905,Savinkov had reflected on revolutionary terror and had the idea of giving up terror, but it was only a flash in the pan.Savinkov also played an important role in the rise of Kornilov and the military coup of Kornilov.During the October Revolution,he tried to stop the fall of the Winter Palace and was a staunch anti-Bolshevik by forming a coalition for the Union for the Defense of the Motherland and Liberty(or SZRi S)and acting as a diplomatic representative of A.V.Kolchak.But after being lured back by the Soviet Union,Savinkov immediately recognized the Soviet regime. As a Narodniki revolutionary,Savinkov was deeply influenced by the Orthodox ethics of Messiah consciousness, ephemeral theory and redemption of the people. He externalized these characters into a zealous pursuit of revolution, thus playing different roles in different stages of the Russian revolutionary movement in the late 19 th century and early 20 th century.
