A Study On Variation And Language Planning Of Yiyang Dialect

Yiyang is located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province,in the middle reaches of Xinjiang River,and belongs to the county under the jurisdiction of Shangrao City.The Yiyang dialect belongs to the Yingyi slice of the Gan dialect,and it displays a unique style in phonetics,vocabulary and grammar.From the perspective of sociolinguistics and based on the language variation and language planning theory,this paper attempts to investigate the influence on phonetic,vocabulary,and grammatical variation made by external factors(gender,age,social class,education level,and region),and makes a further analyze on the characteristics and reasons of Yiyang dialect variation under the use of SPSS27.Based on the survey data and result analysis,this paper raises relevant countermeasures for the protection and inheritance of Yiyang dialect by combing with the theory of language planning in sociolinguistics.This study shows that the Yiyang dialect variation is an ongoing change and tends to move closer to Mandarin.The reasons for the variation of Yiyang dialect include the vigorous promotion of Mandarin,the influence of language attitude and psychological factors,the influence of family environment and language contact,the influence of gender paradox and the phenomenon of transcendence.The research results of this paper will provide materials for the future study of Yiyang dialect,and at the same time provide new materials for the study of language planning.The full text consists of seven chapters,the specific content is as following:Chapter 1 discusses the specific location,the dialect overview of Yiyang County and a related overview of the research situation of Yiyang dialect.On this basis,and under the guidance of sociolinguistics,this part discusses the theoretical basis,research methods and significance of this topic.In addition,it also explains the reasons for the selection of the survey objects in this article,the formulation of the survey plan,the collection and arrangement of corpus.Chapter 2 introduces the phonetic variation of Yiyang dialect.It mainly studies the variation of the initials and finals of Yiyang dialect,analyzes the collected corpus by SPSS23,summarizes the variants’ use condition of phonetic variables,and makes a conclusion on the external factors that affect its variation.Chapter 3 tells the vocabulary variation of Yiyang dialect.It mainly examines the variation of nouns,verbs,adjectives,and adverbs in Yiyang dialect,analyzes the collected corpus with the help of SPSS27 software.It also summarizes the use of variants condition of lexical variables,and sums up the external factors influencing on the variation.Chapter 4 introduces the grammatical variation of Yiyang Dialect.It concludes the study of the variation in disposition sentence,verb-object sentence,and subjectpredicate sentence in Yiyang dialect,the analysis of the collected corpus by SPSS27 and the summary for the use of variants of grammatical variation.It also makes a conclusion of external factors affecting its variation.Chapter 5 discusses the characteristics and reasons of the variation.This part chiefly summarizes the characteristics of phonetic,vocabulary,and grammatical variation in Yiyang dialect,and analyzes the external reasons that affect these variation.Chapter 6 is Language Planning.Based on the previous survey data and results analysis and combining the language planning related theories,this part gives advice on the protection and inheritance of Yiyang dialect from the status planning,ontology planning,acquisition planning and prestige planning aspects.Chapter 7 is Conclusion.It makes a summary of the full text,and points out some shortcomings of this paper.
