| Reviewing class,as an auxiliary class in our curriculum set for foreign students,plays an important role in the Chinese study of foreign students.Effective review lessons can help student get better command of knowledge and improve their language ability.Swain argued that output plays three important roles in language acquisition: selective attention function,verification hypothesis and meta-language consciousness function.Language output forces learners to change their notice from semantic process to syntactic process so as to improve their linguistic fluency.The hypothesis plays important role in second language learning area since then.In this paper,we plan to imply output hypothesis into review class for elementary foreign students.And we will design the related teaching experiment and language test using students who major in MBBS from the overseas education college as the experimental objects.In teaching test,we divide student into two groups: experimental group and control group.Experimental group was taught under the supervision of output hypothesis,while control group was taken ordinary method.Language test has three phrases:pretest aims to certify students’ preliminary level;middle test was set after classes;post-test aims the efficiency of output hypothesis.We combine qualitative and quantitative analysis methods to explore the effect that output hypothesis imply into the second language learning.Our experiment has following findings: 1.output hypothesis implied with review class can greatly improve students’ oral and written ability on the whole.2.review class under output hypothesis have higher demands for teachers to control the class atmosphere.3.The review class under output hypothesis has different impact on different levels of students.According to the results,from the aspect of written test,group B(60-80)makes the greatest improvement in written test on middle test;while group A and C get better grades in post test.From the aspect of oral test,experimental group gets higher grades than control group in middle test and post test.Meanwhile,experimental group itself also gets impressive progress in the vertical comparison within the group.Otherwise,combined with language test,this text reflect the teaching experiment to find some shortcomings of our teaching design.Meanwhile,we put forward some teaching suggestions on the application output hypothesis into language teaching.We hope it can make up some deficiency in the teaching of primary level students and try to improve the foreign students’ Chinese output ability. |
