The 2011 edition of the English Curriculum Standard for Full-time Compulsory Education advocates the adoption of various language teaching methods that emphasize the learning process in teaching.Results-based approaches are often used in traditional English teaching: The teacher kept talking while the students listened passively.Especially grammar teaching is boring,which leads students to fear difficulties in grammar learning,thus affecting the teaching effect.In view of this phenomenon,some scholars put forward to adopt the task model of information gap in English grammar teaching,which is a kind of Task-based teaching method,which more emphasizes the process of learning,that is,students master grammar knowledge by completing information gap tasks in class.This study attempts to explore the application of the information gap tasks in English grammar teaching,starting from the following aspects:1.What is the effect of the use of information gap tasks on improving students’ grammar learning motivation?2.What is the effect of the use of the information gap tasks on improving students’ cooperative learning ability?3.To what extent does the use of information gap tasks improve students’ grammatical ability?This study selected 100 students from the second grade of a junior high school as the research object and carried out a semester teaching experiment.Students were divided into experimental class and control class.The experimental class adopted the task model of information gap to carry out grammar teaching,and the control class used the traditional grammar teaching mode.The data were collected through the research tools of questionnaire,interview and test,and the statistical analysis of the data results were concluded.The results show that the application of the information gap tasks can improve students’ grammar learning motivation,promote the development of students’ cooperative learning ability,and improve students’ English grammar ability to a great extent.This study provides practical reference for grammar teaching in English classroom and provides useful help for the correlation study of grammar teaching.
