A Report On The Escort Interpreting For The China International Digital Economy Expo

In the process of interpreting,due to the differences between the two languages and cultures,the external environment and other factors,interpreters are faced with huge pressure.Therefore,how to deal with the acquisition,screening and transmission of information is a very important part.In some cases,interpreters not only undertake the task of simple discourse interpreting,but also play the role in promoting cultural exchange.In October 2019,China International Digital Economy Expo was held in Shijiazhuang,Hebei Province.The author provided interpreting services for Mr.Catalin Marinescu,director of the strategic planning department of the International Telecommunication Union,as the interpreter.This paper is a practice report based on the experience of the escort interpreting.Based on this interpreting practice and guided by the interpretive theory,this report aims to summarize the problems in practice and make a case study.The case study is divided into three parts:comprehension of meaning,cognitive complement and reformulation.Each part is subdivided to summarize the different interpreting methods adopted in interpreting practice.The author hopes to summarize the problems encountered in this practice and the methods and techniques adopted under the guidance of interpretive theory,so as to further study the guiding role of interpretive theory in interpreting practice and provide references for solving similar problems.
