| Reading is an important role and way to obtain information in human life.English reading,as the largest proportion in the college entrance examination papers,plays a significant role.At present,there are many problems in traditional teaching method of English reading.And it is difficult for students to read by themselves and improve their English reading achievement.In view of the above situation,it is necessary for scholars and teachers to look for an appropriate teaching strategy to change the present situation.The author hopes that the use of jigsaw reading strategy can improve the level of English reading and obtain a good teaching effect.The author selected 92 students from two classes of grade 2 to participate in the experiment.This study lasted for 4 months from September 2020 to December 2020.In the reading teaching,45 students in the experimental class were taught with jigsaw reading strategy,and 47 students in the control class were taught with traditional teaching method.Both classes were taught by the same teacher and the same materials.The author mainly solves the following questions in this research:Question 1: Can the application of jigsaw reading strategy change students’attitude in English reading?Question 2: Can the application of jigsaw reading strategy change students’English reading motivation?Question 3: To what extent does the application of jigsaw reading strategyimprove students’ English reading achievement?The author uses questionnaires,tests and interviews as research tools.The questionnaire and test results were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 and summarize the interview information.The results of the analysis show that the jigsaw reading strategy can make students change their attitude toward English reading,and their motivation to learn English reading has been changed significantly.In addition,students’ English reading performance has also been improved in some extent.In short that it is effective to use jigsaw reading strategy in English reading teaching.On the basis of the results of this study,the author further proposed the use of jigsaw reading strategy in teaching,hoping to provide reference value for future related research. |
