| The report is based on the simulated Chinese-English consecutive interpretation of the documentary Aerial China: Shandong Province. The interpreting is part of the aerial documentary series launched by CCTV in 2017,which present Chinese historical and cultural traditions, natural landscape as well as economic and social developments from an integrated three-dimensional perspective. The source text is presented in the form of documentaries, which are not only very formal in terms of diction and expression, but also have the characteristics of spoken language.Although the source text has different language features, the interpreter should understand the overall style of the documentary,so as to reflect the source language style as accurately as possible and convey the meaning of the source text. Therefore,in order to improve the accuracy of interpretation, the interpreter chooses Interpretive Theory as the guide of this interpretation practice, and pursues the equivalence of meaning and effect rather than equivalence of language units. The report is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the task description, including background information of the task, linguistic features of the documentary and significance of the document interpretation. The second chapter is the description of the interpreting process, including pre-interpreting preparations, interpreting and reflection after the interpretation. The third chapter is the theoretical framework, including the introduction of Interpretive Theory and the application of Interpretive Theory in interpreting. The fourth chapter is case analysis.Under the guidance of Interpretive Theory,it analyzes the interpretation strategies used in specific cases on lexical, syntactic and cultural levels, such as addition, omission, conversion, combination, division, foreignization and domestication; The fifth chapter is the conclusion of this report, which summarizes the achievements and demerits, problems and suggestions of documentary interpretation. |
