A Study Of Shanghai Factors In Hongying’s Novels

Since the late Qing Dynasty,there are a considerable number of literary works with Shanghai as the subject and background.Research on Shanghai writing has also achieved certain results,but it mainly focuses on mainland writers and works.There is still a lot of excavation in the study of Shanghai writing by overseas Chinese writers.space.This article takes the Shanghai writing of the British Chinese writer Hong Ying as the research object.Based on the close reading of the text,it combines space theory and Hongying’s Shanghai experience and cross-cultural experience to explore the uniqueness of Hong Ying’s Shanghai city writing.Including the characteristics of space writing and the relationship between identity awareness,gender concepts and urban writing,revealing the Shanghai factor in his cross-cultural literary writing.The introduction clarifies the basis for selecting the topic of the thesis,combs the status quo of Hongying’s research,and describes the theories,methods and main research content of the thesis.The first chapter describes the connotation of the concept of Shanghai factor,analyzes the embodiment of Shanghai factor in overseas Chinese literature,and discusses the existence and cause of Shanghai factor in his novels based on the Hongying Shanghai-British cross-cultural experience.The second chapter mainly analyzes Hongying’s writing of Shanghai’s urban space,discusses the characteristics of Shanghai’s material space and cultural space in his pen,discusses the relationship between its space writing and character imagery,and explores Hongying’s writing in Shanghai through close reading of the text.unique.The third chapter combines Hongying’s unique life experience to study the identity search shown in his works,and analyzes the relationship between his feminist perspective and urban writing and cross-cultural experience.The conclusion part summarizes and describes the full text,and analyzes the related issues of Hongying’s Shanghai writing,discusses the multiple connotations of "Literary Shanghai",and analyzes the meaning and value of Hongying’s Shanghai writing based on cross-cultural experience.
