As international exchanges is getting closer,transnational economic transactions are becoming increasingly frequent,and domestic and foreign brands compete to explore their international market.The business text with concise language is concerned with the transmission of information,which is frequently used in international business cooperation.As a publicity tool,advertising plays an ever-important role in commercial promotion.With the standardization of the international market,advertising translation is also becoming crucial.Advertising is to induce consumption and make profit,thus the translation of advertising must follow this rule.This project is about the Chinese-English translation of ?KODA Marketing Plans and T-Cross-e WOM Marketing Plans undertaken by the author.After the completion of the project,the author summarizes the difficulties and the methods to deal with these problems by applying the relevance theory.The translator needs to consider how to express the meaning of the original text with concise language and present it to the target audience.In light of relevance theory,the thesis analyzes the language characteristics of business text and advertising text and discusses the translation strategies of automobile marketing plans.For the translation of titles and slogans,literal translation or free translation is adopted to construct the optimal relevance.A s to the translation of four-character words,culture-loaded words and network words,it is to find equivalent words or free translation of cultural concepts.When it comes to figures of speech,literal translation,free translation and omission are adopted.And for the translation of the sentence with no subject and omission and passive sentence,the author uses the following translation strategies: addition,adjusting the sentence structure and converting of sentence components.This thesis is designed to choose appropriate translation strategies and communicate through analyzing the translation of commercial texts and advertising texts.This report hopes to provide some references for future research on the translation of commercial texts and advertising texts.
