| This translation report is based on the E-C translation of the MH370 Safety Investigation Report(excerpt). The MH370 Security Investigation Report is the final written investigation report on the incident of the missing Malaysia Airline. The English report has a total of more than 200,000 words, and its main text can be roughly divided into four chapters: Chapter 1 Factual Information;Chapter 2 Analysis;Chapter 3Findings and Conclusion;Chapter 4 Safety Recommendations. At present, there is no official Chinese version that has been issued. The author selects some contents of 1.4 to1.9 from Chapter 1 to do the translation and research. This report is about aviation terminology translation research under the guidance of Frame-based Terminology Theory.Frame-based Terminology is a kind of new theory of Cognitive Terminology proposed by Pamela Faber and her colleagues. For a long time, the aviation terminology translation has been less concerned by researchers.Existing researches generally pay more attention to lexical understanding, translation strategies or methods of terms, instead of making researches on translation mechanism of terminology from the cognitive perspective. In terminology researches, polysemy occurs in almost all domains. However, due to its specialization, the aviation terminology translation requires high level of words accuracy, especially in the aviation safety, standards formulation and international communication.Based on this situation, this report intends to proceed from the perspective of cognition,to complete research on aviation terminology translation by three ways of "domain event","conceptual frame" and "image description".This paper is to reduce cognitive mistakes, and to further improve the quality and accuracy of aviation terminology translation, hoping to provide another direction to the aviation terminology translation. |
