With the development of global economy, the number of cars is growing at a tremendous rate.As a convenient modern means of transportation, automobiles make our life more convenient, but the exhaust gas also brings great pressure on the environment and resources. Therefore, fuel cell vehicles are developed.Fuel cell vehicles do not consume petroleum resources and their emissions are pollution-free,which can not only meet the needs of use,but also save energy and protect the environment.Although China’s fuel cell vehicles have made some progress, there are still many problems to be solved. Therefore,it is necessary to introduce the relative English literature to China. This can not only deepen our understanding of fuel cell vehicles, but also help us accumulate the translation experience in this field. The translator selects the paper of the field of fuel cell vehicles for translation, and writes this translation practice report through analyzing the cases. The report summarizes the features of automotive English texts and introduces the main contents of Skopos theory and its three principles. Then, combining with the guiding theory, the paper analyzes the translation methods of passive sentences, complex sentences, and postpositive attributives from the lexical, syntactic and textual levels, and expounds the theoretical basis for the use of different translation methods.Through this translation practice, the translator has learned the knowledge in the field of fuel cell vehicles, accumulated relevant professional terms, and improved her translation skills. At the same time, the translator hopes the translation could popularize the relevant knowledge of fuel cell vehicles to the public to make a little contribution to the cause of environment protection.
