| The New Curriculum Standard for Senior High School(2017 edition)changes the overall goal of English courses to the cultivation of their English subject key competencies.Reading teaching plays an important role in cultivating students’ key competencies.In the current senior high school English reading teaching,many teachers have long been influenced by the traditional teaching concept and examoriented view,even if they accept the New Curriculum Standard’s idea,it is still hard to implement it in teaching practice.Therefore,it is a very important issue for teachers to adopt effective reading teaching model in reading teaching.This thesis aims to study the application of Interactive Reading Model in high school English reading teaching and explore the influence of this model on students’ overall reading ability.On the basis of previous studies,this research applies Interactive Reading Model to reading teaching to carry out a three-month action research on the following research questions:(1)What effects does Interactive Reading Model have on students’ classroom interaction in reading class from the perspective of the New Curriculum Standard?(2)What effects does Interactive Reading Model have on students’ reading performance from the perspective of the New Curriculum Standard?(3)How should Interactive Reading Model be implemented in reading class from the perspective of the New Curriculum Standard?In accordance with the action research idea of “establishing the problem,planning and implementing,reflecting and adjusting,re-planning and implementing”,this research was carried out in a class of the second grade of a senior high school in Shenyang.It lasted for three months and included two rounds of action research.Each round of research lasted for six weeks.The research instruments included questionnaires,interviews,classroom observations and tests.After analyzing the data,the researcher comes to the following conclusion: The Interactive Reading Model had positive effects on strengthening the effective interaction between students and the teacher and their classmates,and improving the reading performance of students,which was a useful way to improve the overall reading ability of high school students.Students also showed a positive attitude towards this model.The teacher should create authentic contexts in the reading teaching process,design reasonable reading tasks to guide students to learn to use reading strategies and skills,enable students to grasp the thematic context of the text,and enable them to actively interact in the classroom,and manage to cultivate their thinking quality and cultural awareness. |
