Mirroring And Gazing In The Oil Painting Man In The Mirror Series

In my graduation work Man in the Mirror series,mirror image is regarded as an important element in the creation.The part of the body in the mirror image and the object in the outer space of the mirror image form a staggered and repeated picture form.The mirror image is at the focal point of the picture and becomes the center of the layout structure of the whole picture.In the work,the virtual elements of space and the real composition form interspersed or contrasted with each other,and the subtle relationship between body and emotion is set off by the sense of form of the picture.The picture emphasizes the expression of contour lines and exquisite texture.Based on Lacan’s "mirror theory",this paper studies the relationship between mirror image and self in Man in the Mirror series.What is reflected in the work is the reflection on the mirror image and the self-gaze.The mirror series is not only a representation of reality,but also a reflection on the relationship between virtual and reality in the form of pictures.The form of mirror has become an important medium to convey the inner world of characters,reconstruct the picture space and re-understand themselves.
