| General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that “we should make good use of the main channel of class teaching so that all kinds of courses can work together with ideological and political theory course to form a synergy effect”(Xi Jinping,2016).The main position of curriculum ideology and politics is in the ideological and political class,and the infiltration of moral education in other disciplines is equally important.The organic combination of curriculum ideology and politics and class teaching can improve the effectiveness of education and help to achieve the fundamental goal of moral education.After the concept of curriculum ideology and politics was put forward,most of the research focused on the comparison between curriculum ideology and politics and ideological and political course as well as the practice of curriculum ideology and politics in colleges and universities.Few researches are on junior high school and even fewer are on English course of junior high school.However,junior high school is an important stage for students to form correct outlook on life,values and good humanistic quality.Junior high school students need full ideological and political guidance.Compulsory Education English Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)points out that it is of great significance for the future development of teenagers to set up English course in the compulsory education stage(2017:1).Strengthening moral education and cultivating people is the fundamental task of education,and foreign language education is a kind of activity of value shaping.In other words,the essence of foreign language education is also a kind of moral education.Therefore,it is of great significance to integrate ideological and political education in English teaching in junior high school.In order to understand the current situations of the integration of ideological and political education in English teaching in junior high school,find out why the current situations are not optimistic,and put forward countermeasures,so as to promote students’ all-round development,this paper takes No.7 Middle School of Yining City,No.22 Middle School of Yining City and No.6 Middle School of Yining City as examples,and randomly selects 40 English teachers and 1200 students as the research participants,by using the method of questionnaire survey,classroom observation and interview,practically studies two issues: 1.What are the current situations of the integration of ideological and political education in English teaching in junior high school? 2.What are the reasons for the unqualified combination of junior high school English teaching with ideological and political education?It is found that the current situations are as follows: The English teachers and students have a certain understanding of curriculum ideology and politics but not deep enough,and the teachers’ awareness of it is weak;The level of the English teachers’ cross-cultural comprehensive literacy is not strong,and the teaching mode is single;The Students’ ability of thinking about foreign culture is weak,and they don’t pay enough attention to local culture;The school lacks the evaluation mechanism for the integration effect of curriculum ideological and political education in English course,and has low requirements for English teachers’ ideological and political ability.The reasons that lead to the current situations are as follows: The English teachers’ misunderstanding of the value of junior high school English course;The English teachers’ misunderstanding of the general objectives of English curriculum;The school management does not put forward specific requirements for the construction of curriculum ideology and politics in English teaching,lacks of systematic training guidance and effective supervision.According to the results of this study,the author suggests as follows: Junior high school English teachers should be clear about the objectives and contents of curriculum ideology and politics;Junior high school English teachers should strive to enhance the awareness and ability of the construction of curriculum ideology and politics;Junior high school English teachers should integrate curriculum ideology and politics into the whole process of classroom teaching;Junior high schools should establish and improve the quality evaluation system and incentive mechanism to test the effect of curriculum ideology and politics;Local education departments and schools should strengthen the organization and implementation for curriculum ideology and politics. |
